Key Responsibilities
- Lead and Elevate the Pastry Department: Take full ownership of the pastry kitchen. Design, develop, and execute exquisite, high-end pastry concepts, signature desserts, afternoon tea, seasonal amenities, and banquet menus that reflect the hotel’s luxury standing.
- Set the Standard for Sweet Luxury: Ensure every creation leaving the pastry kitchen is a masterpiece of taste, texture, and visual artistry, consistently meeting and exceeding 5-star luxury standards.
- Mentor and Inspire a Talented Team: Act as a hands-on leader. Recruit, train, mentor, and motivate your pastry team, fostering a culture of continuous learning, precision, and passion.
- Manage Operations & Creative Sourcing: Work closely with the Executive Chef to manage food costs, inventory, and supplier relations. Source the finest premium, seasonal, and local ingredients to keep our menus innovative and sustainable.
- Ensure Operational Excellence: Maintain impeccable standards of hygiene, food safety, and kitchen organization, leading by example in professional kitchen management.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- Proven Leadership & Mastery: You have extensive experience as a Pastry Chef or Head Pastry Chef in a luxury hotel (ideally 5-star) or a high-end, fine-dining establishment.
- Creative Visionary: You possess a deep knowledge of classic and modern pastry techniques, a strong sense of aesthetic presentation, and the ability to turn culinary trends into unique guest experiences.
- Exceptional Leadership Skills: You are a natural leader with excellent communication skills, capable of managing, organizing, and developing a diverse team under fast-paced, high-pressure conditions.
- Business Acumen: You understand kitchen financials, menu engineering, portion control, and waste management without compromising on quality.
