The Associate Manager, Supply Chain Finance Centre of Excellence (COE) will play a dual role in supporting ResMed's Supply Chain Finance organization.
As the COE continues to mature, this role is expected to lead the development of the Kuala Lumpur-based Supply Chain Finance COE while remaining actively involved in day-to-day Operations Accounting activities. The successful candidate will be a hands-on leader who is comfortable balancing operational delivery with longer-term process transformation.
The role will perform and oversee month-end close, cost accounting, inventory accounting and financial reporting activities across multiple entities, while partnering closely with Supply Chain Finance Business Partners to ensure timely and accurate financial results.
In parallel, the role will identify opportunities to standardize processes, optimize the operating model, consolidate activities across sites and drive automation initiatives to improve efficiency, scalability and service delivery across the Supply Chain Finance organization.
Key Responsibilities
Operations Accounting & Month-End Close
Take ownership of month-end and quarter-end close activities for assigned manufacturing and distribution entities, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.
Perform and review journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, inventory accounting, manufacturing variance analysis and standard costing activities.
Support management costing, cost roll-ups, product costing and inventory valuation processes.
Partner with site Finance Business Partners to resolve operational accounting issues and support business decisions.
Provide hands-on operational support during peak close periods and proactively assist the team in meeting reporting deadlines.
Ensure compliance with accounting policies, SOX requirements and internal controls.
Build & Lead the Supply Chain Finance COE
Lead and develop a growing Operations Accounting team based in Kuala Lumpur.
Coach, mentor and develop team members while fostering a collaborative, high-performing culture.
Establish clear roles, responsibilities and service delivery standards within the COE.
Balance workload across the team to optimize capacity and ensure continuity during month-end close.
Process Excellence & Continuous Improvement
Review existing Operations Accounting activities across manufacturing entities to identify opportunities for consolidation, standardization and simplification.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives through process redesign, automation and system enhancements.
Develop standard operating procedures and governance frameworks to improve consistency across sites.
Partner with Finance Business Partners and Operations leaders to improve end-to-end finance processes.
Demonstrated curiosity and a continuous improvement mindset, with the ability to identify opportunities to leverage automation, digital technologies and AI-enabled solutions to improve finance processes, controls and service delivery.
Stakeholder Management
Partner closely with Supply Chain Finance Business Partners across manufacturing sites.
Build trusted relationships with Operations, Planning, Corporate Accounting and Shared Services teams.
Support finance transformation initiatives and implementation of the Supply Chain Finance COE operating model.
Requirements
Education & Experience
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline. CPA, CA or equivalent professional qualification is preferred.
7–10 years of relevant experience in Operations Accounting, Cost Accounting, Manufacturing Finance or Financial Reporting within a multinational environment.
Prior experience in a manufacturing environment with a strong understanding of inventory accounting, standard costing and month-end close processes.
Previous experience leading or mentoring a finance team, with demonstrated ability to develop people and foster a collaborative team environment.
Experience working within a Shared Services Centre (SSC) or Centre of Excellence (COE) environment is a must.
Technical & Functional Skills
Strong knowledge of manufacturing accounting principles, inventory valuation, standard costing and financial reporting.
Hands-on experience performing month-end close activities, including journal entries, reconciliations and financial analysis.
Experience with ERP systems (e.g. SAP, Oracle or equivalent); knowledge of manufacturing modules is an advantage.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills; experience with Power BI, automation tools or process improvement technologies is advantageous.
Leadership & Behavioral Competencies
Demonstrated ability to lead by example, balancing people leadership with hands-on operational execution.
Proven experience driving process improvements, standardization or finance transformation initiatives.
Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across Finance, Operations and Shared Services teams.
Ability to identify opportunities to simplify, standardize and improve existing finance processes.
Comfortable working in a fast-paced, evolving environment while managing competing priorities and meeting reporting deadlines.
Excellent communication and influencing skills, with the ability to work effectively across multiple countries and cultures.
Demonstrated ability to balance operational delivery with continuous improvement, remaining hands-on during critical reporting periods while driving longer-term transformation initiatives.
