## Join our Team
At this time, Ericsson Canada Inc. does not provide immigration assistance/sponsorship now or in the future for this position.
About this opportunity:
The Compliance Officer will be part of Ericsson’s Compliance & Integrity Risk Assessment (CIRA) team within the Compliance Office and will lead and execute assessments of compliance and integrity risks across countries, Customer Units, Business Areas and Group Functions.
This position is open in Germany, Spain, the United Kingdom, Brazil, and Mexico; salary varies by location and applicable law.
The role will lead CIRA activities end to end, from planning and scoping through stakeholder interviews, transaction testing, data analysis, risk assessment, validation, reporting and remediation follow-up. It requires strong professional judgement, excellent attention to detail and the ability to identify, assess and clearly articulate genuine compliance and integrity risks.
The successful candidate will work with stakeholders across the business and Compliance network, providing independent challenge while recognising that business functions remain accountable for their activities and decisions. The role will also contribute to the continued development of the CIRA methodology, assessment tools, data analytics, interview approach and reporting standards, including the appropriate use of AI and other technologies.
What you will do:
The responsibilities below are indicative and may include, but are not limited to:
● Plan and scope assessments: Build a clear understanding of the business, operating model, key processes, regulatory environment and risk profile. Define the scope, objectives and approach for each assessment and escalate material risks identified outside the formal scope.
● Lead stakeholder interviews: Prepare and conduct structured, risk-based interviews with business and functional stakeholders to understand how activities operate in practice. Use effective questioning and follow-up to identify potential exposure and distinguish confirmed facts from stakeholder views, assumptions and potential risks.
● Test transactions and analyse data: Design and perform risk-based transaction testing and data analysis across areas such as procurement and purchase-to-pay, purchase orders, invoices, service acceptance, quantity changes, contingency use, travel and expenses, gifts, entertainment and hospitality, asset and inventory traceability, and other higher-risk transactions. Identify unusual activity, exceptions, trends, concentrations and other indicators requiring further assessment.
● Assess compliance and integrity exposure: Assess risks including Anti-Bribery & Corruption, Anti-Money Laundering, fraud, sanctions, export controls, trade compliance, Anti-Trust/Anti-Competition, conflicts of interest, human rights, privacy, ESG, health, safety and security, ethics, reputation and other relevant regulatory risks. Assess third-party and supplier risks, including due diligence, sourcing, supplier selection, subcontracting, intermediaries, channel partners, contract governance and ongoing oversight, where relevant to the CIRA scope.
● Assess culture and governance: Evaluate tone from the top and middle management, accountability, decision-making, escalation, Speak-Up culture, non-retaliation, the handling of concerns raised informally and the involvement of relevant specialist functions.
## .
● Identify emerging risks: Identify compliance and integrity exposure arising from changes in business models, technology and AI, geopolitical developments, public-sector and mission-critical business, entry or expansion into higher-risk markets, organisational transformation and regulatory developments.
● Assess, report and validate findings: Translate assessment results into clear, evidence-based findings that explain the specific exposure, its root cause and the action required to address it. Apply proportionate risk classifications and validate findings and ratings with business stakeholders and specialist functions, managing challenge constructively and on the basis of evidence.
● Prepare and present executive-level outputs: Draft high-quality CIRA reports and executive presentations that enable senior stakeholders who were not involved in the assessment to understand the risk, its significance and the recommended action without additional explanation. Present findings and key risk themes to relevant management and governance forums and prepare concise briefing materials for senior leaders, including at short notice.
● Maintain quality, evidence and confidentiality: Maintain a clear evidence trail supporting each finding and apply rigorous quality assurance to evidence, calculations, data analysis, risk classifications, factual accuracy and consistency between findings and recommendations. Manage the confidentiality and controlled distribution of draft and final assessment outputs.
● Identify and appropriately refer potential misconduct: Recognise indicators of potential misconduct identified during assessments and refer matters to Investigations and other relevant functions in line with established procedures, while ensuring the integrity of any subsequent investigation is not compromised.
● Follow up remediation: Monitor agreed remediation actions, accountable owners, timelines and supporting evidence through closure, and assess whether completed actions effectively and sustainably address the underlying risk.
● Develop the CIRA approach: Analyse findings across assessments to identify recurring themes, systemic vulnerabilities, emerging risks and areas requiring broader compliance risk prioritisation. Contribute to the continuous development of the CIRA methodology, risk taxonomy, assessment tools, transaction-testing framework, data analytics, interview approach and reporting standards, including appropriate use of AI and technology.
## .
The skills you bring:
● Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Law, Finance, Business, Compliance, Risk Management, Audit or another relevant discipline.
● At least 10 years’ relevant professional experience in compliance, risk, audit, investigations, legal, finance, internal controls or a related field, including experience leading compliance risk assessments, monitoring, testing or similar assurance activities.
● Strong knowledge of international compliance and integrity risks, including Anti-Bribery & Corruption, AML, sanctions, export controls, fraud and other relevant regulatory frameworks.
● Excellent interviewing and investigative skills, with the ability to build rapport, ask probing questions, challenge inconsistencies and distinguish facts from opinions or assumptions.
● Strong analytical skills, including the ability to analyse complex data, identify patterns and exceptions, and perform transaction-level testing. Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills.
● Exceptional attention to detail and sound professional judgement, with the ability to assess risk objectively, proportionately and on the basis of evidence.
● Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate complex risk into clear findings, recommendations and executive-level presentations.
● Strong stakeholder management skills, including the ability to provide independent challenge, manage pushback constructively and maintain effective relationships with senior stakeholders.
● Ability to work independently, take ownership of end-to-end deliverables and manage multiple assessments and deadlines while maintaining quality.
● Practical understanding of AI and emerging technologies, with the ability to use AI responsibly and critically and validate outputs using professional judgement.
● International experience and cultural awareness, high integrity and willingness to travel for CIRA fieldwork. Relevant professional qualifications such as CFE, CAMS, ICA, CIA or CISA are an advantage.
