SUMMARY:
This position is a detail-oriented role primarily responsible for supporting the Accounting team with cost accounting, inventory, and month-end close activities.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Core duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Record and reconcile daily transactions (AP, AR, general ledger entries)
Assist with month-end and year-end close processes
Support inventory costing, cycle counts, and variance analysis
Reconcile bank statements and vendor accounts
Help track fixed assets and depreciation schedules
Assist with cost of goods sold (COGS) calculations and project cost tracking
Prepare journal entries and supporting schedules
Support internal and external audits by gathering documentation
Assist with sales tax filings and other compliance reporting
Collaborate with production and procurement teams on cost-related questions

QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
A bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. 0-2 years related experience, including internships; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Familiarity with cost accounting and a manufacturing environment is preferred. Coursework or experience in financial accounting and/or cost accounting is a plus.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Must be fluent in both written and spoken English
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
REASONING ABILITY:
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
COMPUTER SKILLS:
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suites. Must be proficient in MS Excel. Experience with ERP systems (SAP, NetSuite, Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central, etc.) preferred.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, AND REGISTRATIONS: CPA track or progress toward certification is preferred.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
