About the Role
Udhyam Learning Foundation is looking for a hands-on and analytically strong Finance Manager to join our Finance team and work closely with the Co - Founder.
This is a high-ownership, cross-functional role that goes beyond accounting. You will be responsible for ensuring strong financial operations, meaningful management reporting, donor compliance, audit coordination and effective cash management.
The role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with numbers, solving problems, building processes and partnering with teams across the organization.

Roles and Responsibilities:
Accounting & Financial Operations
Oversee day-to-day accounting and ensure accurate and timely closure of books.
Review reconciliations, accounting entries, payables, receivables and financial controls.
Identify and resolve accounting and operational finance issues.
MIS & Financial Analysis
Prepare and present monthly MIS for the management.
Analyse actuals vs. budget/forecast and highlight key variances and trends.
Translate financial data into meaningful insights for decision-making.
Support budgeting, forecasting and financial planning.
Donor Management & Compliance
Coordinate the finance aspects of onboarding new donors and grants.
Work with Fundraising, Program, Operations and other teams on donor financial requirements.
Ensure donor reporting, documentation and compliance requirements are met.
Coordinate donor audits and drive closure of audit observations.
Statutory Audit & Compliance
Coordinate the annual statutory audit and work closely with external auditors.
Prepare audit schedules and supporting documentation and coordinate responses to audit queries.
Support the Cofounder and Payroll/Finance consultants on statutory and regulatory compliance matters.
Cash & Treasury Management
Monitor cash flows and liquidity requirements.
Support payment planning and ensure appropriate financial controls.
Prepare cash-flow forecasts and proactively flag funding or liquidity requirements.
Cross-functional Finance Partnership
Partner with teams across Udhyam on finance-related matters.
Help non-finance teams understand and comply with financial policies and donor requirements.
Drive finance-related actions to timely closure across functions.
What We're Looking For
We are looking for a person with at least 10 years minimum experience, with the following experience and skill set to own and execute finance activities at the Udhyam.
6–8+ years of relevant experience in finance and accounting
Strong understanding of accounting, financial reporting, audits and financial controls
Experience with donor/grant accounting or the not-for-profit/social sector will be an advantage
Advanced Excel skills and strong financial analysis capabilities
Experience in MIS, budgeting, forecasting and cash-flow management
Good working knowledge of accounting/ERP systems
CA / Semi-qualified CA preferred
