Job Descriptions:
Essential Function:
Coordinates activities related to the procurement of materials, products and services for Silfex, in support of the daily operations by performing the following duties.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
· Assures that the materials, products and/or services are ordered and delivered on schedule in a cost effective manner while meeting all quality and corporate standards of the company.
· Manages low dollar spend commodities (e.g. uniforms, MRO VMI programs, canteen vending, etc.).
· Creates and publishes exception reports from ERP system showing gaps in new part set-up, supplier certifications, and contract management.
· Supports keying master data for supplier and consumable set-up.
· Works with A/P on resolving receiving/invoicing issues.
· Supports various ad hoc projects as assigned.
· Manages supplier banking change process on behalf of Supply Chain.
· Maintains timely control and accuracy of orders, amendments, shipping notices, and other documents to assure accurate retention of records through use of our ERP software.
· Analyzes the requirements of the material, product or service, including preliminary specifications, preferred supplier, and date needed.
· Solicits and evaluates proposals for the requested material, product or service.
· Advises company personnel or management on the appropriate supplier to be used.
· Negotiates the lowest possible cost balanced against the optimum quality and production needs.
· Apply lean principles and participating in lean concept, especially when ordering material for the shop.
· Tracks the performance of suppliers in quality and delivery.
· Develop and maintain a working knowledge of the Silfex Quality Management System and properly apply Quality Procedures and Operating Procedures as appropriate.
· Carry out special projects and all other additional duties as assigned.
· Follow all company safety policies and report any unsafe conditions to Manufacturing Manager, EHS Manager, and/ or Director of Manufacturing.
· Assist in applying lean manufacturing concepts and 5S.
· Perform tasks/duties related to special projects or assignments.
· Perform other duties as assigned by department management.
Qualifications:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
· Bachelor’s Degree in a related field; or a High School Diploma/GED and 2+ years related experience.
· Proficiency in the use of personal computers to include knowledge in the use of the Internet and software programs such as Microsoft Office products and ERP systems.
· Must possess strong written and verbal communication skills.
· Ability to read, analyzes, and interprets general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures or government regulations.
· Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
· Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
· Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference and volume.
· Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
· Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
· Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
· Must be able to multi-task effectively in a high paced environment.
· Must be able to work effectively individually and in a team environment.
· Must possess strong attention to details.
· Must be able to perform successfully under minimum supervision.
· Must be able to attain sufficient task success to establish credibility with management, staff and employees.

Physical Demands:
