About the role
MSS Security is seeking a Casual Aviation Protection Officer to join our team at Hervey Bay Airport. As an Aviation Protection Officer, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safety and security of passengers, staff and airport operations.
Duties include but are not limited to:
- Conduct security screening for passengers, staff and visitors
- Operate security screening equipment, including metal detectors, X-ray machines and ETD equipment, to detect prohibited items and potential security risks.
- Screen passengers, staff, visitors and baggage in line with security procedures and airport requirements.
- Monitor and patrol airport premises to identify and report any security threats or breaches.
Requirements:
- Full Australian working rights
- Ability to undergo and pass a medical assessment (including drug and alcohol testing)
- Strong customer service skills with excellent verbal and written communication
- Proficient in basic computer skills
- Ability to stand for extended periods, up to 12 hours
- 24/7 availability required
