Job Summary
The Senior Director, Business Development (Cell & Gene Therapy) plays a critical role in expanding AGC Biologics' Cell & Gene Therapy business and advancing life-changing therapies to patients worldwide. This strategic commercial leader will proactively build and grow relationships with innovative biotechnology and pharmaceutical companies, identify new business opportunities, and lead complex development and manufacturing partnerships across plasmid DNA, cell therapy, and gene therapy programs.
By combining industry expertise, customer focus, and a consultative approach, the Senior Director will help clients bring groundbreaking therapies from concept to commercialization while driving continued growth for AGC Biologics.
About Our CGT Business Development Team
The Cell & Gene Therapy Business Development team partners with innovative biotech and pharmaceutical companies to bring transformative therapies to patients worldwide. Combining scientific expertise, customer focus, and commercial excellence, the team works collaboratively across our global organization to deliver tailored solutions and build long-term client partnerships in the rapidly evolving CGT market.
Your Key Responsibilities
Manage the preparation of all RFI’s, proposals, revisions, and process change-orders together with Business Operations.
Support the execution of business development and sales strategy for AGC Biologics’ global offerings by engaging with clients via phone, email, and in-person meetings to represent capabilities, value proposition, and execution model.
Facilitate rapid execution of the sales process by coordinating across company stakeholders, leading proposal development, and supporting leadership in closing deals.
Maintain and own applicable sales pipeline data using CRM software; present progress to leadership regularly.
Identify leads and close sales that promote company visibility, growth, and profitability. Implement strategies to increase revenue and market share.
Establish contact with prospective clients that meet targeted profiles; visit clients and communicate company capabilities.
Facilitate site visits by prospective clients, set agendas, coordinate participation, and lead discussions. Follow up and address feedback.
Actively participate in developing a comprehensive marketing plan for the region.
Build and sustain effective relationships internally and externally to ensure timely pursuit of business opportunities.
Assist in negotiating Strategic Account Agreements as needed.
Develop and maintain positive, constructive relationships with global site teams and the Business Development team.
Coordinate internal and external technical, legal, and financial due diligence activities on specific business opportunities.

Your Experience & Qualifications
Dynamic, hands-on professional with 10+ years of proven success in Business Development, preferably in the CDMO industry.
Bachelor's degree required; Master's or PhD in a scientific discipline preferred.
Ability to cultivate strong client relationships and manage expectations effectively.
Highly effective written, verbal, and presentation communication skills.
Comfortable adjusting communication style to fit different audiences and messages with ease.

Compensation: $164,400 - $266,750, based on experience
