Overview:
We are seeking a highly motivated and customer-oriented Airport Assistant to join our team at Air Connect in Johannesburg, South Africa. As an Airport Assistant, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service and support to travelers at the airport.
Key Responsibilities:
- Greet and welcome passengers at the airport, providing a warm and friendly atmosphere
- Assist passengers with check-in, baggage drop-off, and boarding procedures
- Answer any questions or concerns from passengers and provide accurate information about flight schedules, delays, and other airport services
- Ensure a smooth and efficient flow of passengers through the airport, adhering to all safety and security protocols
- Assist passengers with special needs, such as elderly or disabled individuals, and ensure they have a comfortable and stress-free experience
- Handle and resolve customer complaints or issues in a timely and professional manner
- Collaborate with airport staff, such as security personnel and airline representatives, to ensure a seamless travel experience for passengers
- Keep track of flight schedules and monitor any changes or delays
- Maintain a neat and organized work area, including the check-in counters and boarding gates
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures, as well as airport regulations and standards
- Continuously seek ways to improve the customer experience and provide feedback to management
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience in customer service or hospitality is preferred
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to remain calm and professional in high-stress situations
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays
- Familiarity with airport operations and procedures is a plus
- Fluent in English, both written and verbal
- Must be able to pass a background check and drug test
