We’re looking for a people-focused and commercially minded Recruitment Consultant to join Castle Employment Group.
This is a full 360 recruitment role, giving you responsibility for the complete recruitment process. You’ll build relationships with local employers, understand their recruitment needs, find and engage suitable candidates and manage the process through to a successful placement.
The role has a strong sales and business development element. You’ll develop new client relationships, grow existing accounts and work towards clear commercial targets, while delivering an excellent experience for clients and candidates.
Key responsibilities
Client relationships and account management
- Build strong, trusted relationships with clients and hiring managers.
- Understand each client’s business, culture and recruitment needs.
- Take detailed vacancy briefs and advise clients on the recruitment market.
- Maintain regular contact throughout the recruitment process and provide effective aftercare.
- Identify opportunities to support clients with additional roles or services.
Business development
- Develop new business through calls, meetings, referrals and networking.
- Build a pipeline of prospective clients and recruitment opportunities.
- Introduce suitable candidates to businesses that may be looking to recruit.
- Arrange and attend client meetings, following up leads consistently and professionally.
- Use market knowledge to have credible, commercially focused conversations with employers.
Candidate recruitment and support
- Source candidates through job boards, social media, referrals and networking.
- Interview and register candidates to understand their experience, ambitions and suitability.
- Build trusted relationships with candidates and maintain regular contact.
- Match candidates to suitable vacancies and prepare them thoroughly for interviews.
- Support candidates throughout the offer, notice and starting process, including aftercare.
Managing vacancies
- Manage vacancies from the initial client brief through to placement.
- Write and advertise clear, engaging job adverts.
- Identify, assess and shortlist suitable candidates.
- Present strong candidate profiles, arrange interviews and gather feedback from both parties.
- Manage offers, salary discussions and potential counteroffers.
- Prioritise vacancies effectively and work at pace without compromising quality.
Compliance and administration
- Ensure candidate and client information is recorded accurately.
- Complete all required right-to-work, GDPR and recruitment compliance checks.
- Keep vacancy, candidate and client records up to date on the CRM system.
- Maintain accurate records of calls, meetings and recruitment activity.
- Follow Castle’s recruitment processes and professional standards.
What we’re looking for
You don’t necessarily need to have worked for a recruitment agency before. We’re interested in someone who can demonstrate strong transferable skills and genuinely wants to build a career in recruitment.
- Experience in recruitment,, staffing, sales, account management or customer service.
- Confidence speaking with different people by telephone, online and face to face.
- Strong organisation skills and the ability to manage several priorities.
- A proactive approach and willingness to follow up opportunities.
- Resilience and the ability to handle setbacks positively.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Commercial awareness and the motivation to achieve targets.
- Strong attention to detail and confidence learning new technology and systems.
- A genuine interest in people, businesses and the Yorkshire employment market.
