Pratt & Whitney Aero Engines International GmbH (PWAEI), an indirect wholly owned subsidiary of Raytheon Technologies Corporation (RTX), is an international aerospace company headquartered in Lucerne, Switzerland.
The Global Trade (GT) Manager will operate at the office in Lucerne. The GT Site Manager is responsible for working closely with internal and external customers to develop process solutions to GT issues. The GT Manager will be focused on the management of Technology Export Controls with some customs activity.
What will your day-to-day look like?
- Serve as the primary Global Trade contact for multiple sites in Europe, providing comprehensive coordination across these sites and advising sites leadership on GT processes (PWAEI and PWMI in Switzerland, PW SARL in France, European Logistic Center in the Netherlands and PWAEI PSG in Hamburg)
- Partner with Global Trade Program Support (GTPS) to identify, assess, and manage global trade issues, opportunities, or enhancements at the physical sites.
- Oversee local licensing activities
- Supports implementation of GT requirements at each site
- Lead/coordinate site level GT council(s) with the GT community at the sites.
- Serve as point of contact for sites level audit(s), corrective actions, site card maintenance and related data,
- The ability to communicate clearly, build relationships, exercise good judgment and work effectively across P&W is critical in this role.
What do you need to be successful?
- Bachelor’s degree with 8+ years of applicable experience; OR Advanced Degree and 5+ years of applicable experience.
- Work experience in roles that ensure compliance with the ITAR, EAR, U.S. sanctions regulations, EU, and Swiss export regulations.
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, specifically related to working with cross functional teams in a matrixed organization.
- Exceptional written and oral communication skills. Must be able to develop clear, concise, and logically written business communications as well as deliver recommendations effectively to key stakeholders and demanding audiences.
- This position is part of an English-speaking work environment, it requires a very good knowledge of English to read and understand, on a daily basis, documentation and technical terms that may emanate from international organizations, as well as to write and communicate in English with customers, suppliers or international colleagues.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Self-starter with demonstrated ability to motivate, influence, manage crisis, and develop effective networks with internal customers and ability to collaborate with multiple business functions for success
- Comfortable making quick decisions and exercising good judgment with escalation of issues
- Experience working with executive level management; Ability to clearly communicate at all organizational levels
- CORE Apprentice Certification
