A Day in the Life
Are you looking to create capability and competencies in Operational Excellence (OpEx) for the leader in the Medical Technology industry?As the Operational Excellence Sr. Manager, Transactional Processes, you will be a core member of the team representing Operational Excellence, planning and executing process improvement objectives that support the Global Quality organization. These objectives include specific operational performance targets and the development and training of employees to foster a sustainable culture of continuous improvement.

This role is remote within the United States, with a preference for candidates located near a Medtronic site to support stronger cross functional collaboration and maintain our competitive advantage. The position requires approximately 50–75% travel to foster collaboration and ensure successful project execution.
As the Operational Excellence Sr. Manager, Transactional Processes, you will:
Guide, deploy, and execute the Medtronic Performance System (MPS), our “one best way” methodology and tools that support our holistic operational excellence program across the assigned Global Quality organization.
Contribute to the overall Global Operations & Supply Chain and Global Quality organizational goals by identifying organizational needs required to achieve key performance indicators.
Develop and execute plans that deliver annual improvements in performance, process excellence, and programmatic savings
Partner with assigned Functional teams to eliminate waste, improve process efficiency, and lead process and value stream transformation activities across prioritized workflows.
Develop process thinking, problem-solving skills, and a Value Stream mindset through MPS and Lean Six Sigma teaching, coaching, and mentoring.
Facilitate strategic kaizen events with functional/cross-functional teams to drive performance improvements.
Must Have:
Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 7 years of relevant experience in manufacturing, Business Operations, and/or operational excellence structures, or an advanced degree with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in manufacturing, Business Operations, and/or operational excellence structures
Certified Lean Six Sigma Green Belt
Nice to Have:
Lean Six Sigma Black Belt certification.
Experience working within a Zero Loss methodology or operating model.
Demonstrated success applying operational excellence principles in transactional environments, driving measurable process improvements, operational efficiencies, and cost savings.
Strong change management capabilities, with proven experience coaching, mentoring, and developing teams.
Ability to influence and drive organizational change without direct authority.
Willingness and ability to travel 50–75%, depending on business needs and initiative requirements.
Excellent communication and presentation skills, including the ability to facilitate training programs in person and virtually, and to clearly communicate complex concepts to diverse audiences.
Strong project management skills, including time management, stakeholder and client relationship management, conflict resolution, training facilitation, and administrative oversight.
Solid understanding of engineering, project management, and financial principles, with demonstrated experience integrating continuous improvement methodologies to drive business results.
Working Conditions: Travel typically 50% to 75% but varies based on initiatives.
For Baccalaureate degrees earned outside of the United States, a degree that satisfies the requirements of 8 C.F.R. § 214.2(h)(4)(iii)(A) is required.

This position is eligible for a short-term incentive called the Medtronic Incentive Plan (MIP).The base salary range is applicable across the United States, excluding Puerto Rico and specific locations in California. The offered rate complies with federal and local regulations and may vary based on factors such as experience, certification/education, market conditions, and location. Compensation and benefits information pertains solely to candidates hired within the United States (local market compensation and benefits will apply for others).
