Armed Security Officer

Schedule: Monday - Friday | 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM

Position Overview

Citadel Security USA is seeking a dependable Armed Security Officer to provide professional security coverage at an assigned facility in Tulsa. This position is responsible for protecting people, property, equipment, and designated areas through routine patrols, access control, surveillance monitoring, incident response, and accurate reporting.

The ideal candidate is observant, dependable, and comfortable interacting with employees, visitors, vendors, and other members of the public. The officer must be able to exercise sound judgment, follow established post orders, and remain composed when responding to security concerns.
 

Position Specific Requirements

• Must be 21 years of age or older.
• Must possess a personal firearm suitable for assigned armed duties and compliant with applicable laws and company requirements.
• Must have an active Guard Card and maintain all required credentials for the assignment.
• Must be able to successfully complete required background screening.
• Must be capable of safely performing armed security responsibilities in accordance with company policies and applicable laws.
   

Key Responsibilities

Patrol & Premises Security

• Patrol assigned premises on foot or by vehicle to identify signs of intrusion, unauthorized activity, property damage, or unsafe conditions.
• Conduct routine inspections of buildings, parking areas, entrances, exits, and designated exterior areas.
• Maintain a visible security presence throughout assigned areas.
• Identify unsecured doors, unusual conditions, safety concerns, and other irregularities.
• Help protect high-value assets, equipment, sensitive locations, and other designated property.
• Enforce applicable property rules, post orders, and organizational procedures.
   

Surveillance & Security Systems

• Monitor CCTV cameras and other available surveillance systems.
• Observe alarms and electronic access-control systems for unusual activity or security concerns.
• Report equipment malfunctions, system issues, or security deficiencies promptly.
• Maintain awareness of activity across monitored areas.
• Follow established procedures when an alarm or security alert is received.
   

Access Control

• Monitor designated entry and exit points.
• Check identification and verify authorization when required.
• Issue visitor badges and maintain appropriate access records.
• Log entries and exits in accordance with established procedures.
• Identify and report attempted unauthorized access.
• Follow site-specific access-control requirements and post orders.
   

Incident Response

• Respond to disturbances, emergencies, suspicious activity, alarms, and other security-related incidents.
• Assess situations and take appropriate action within the scope of assigned responsibilities.
• Apply use-of-force procedures only when necessary, legally permitted, and consistent with company policy.
• Maintain professional communication during stressful or rapidly changing situations.
• Coordinate with law enforcement or emergency responders during serious incidents.
• Notify supervisors of significant events and security concerns.
• Help secure affected areas until additional assistance arrives when appropriate.
   

Reporting & Documentation

• Prepare detailed reports covering daily activities, incidents, irregularities, and security concerns.
• Record observations and actions taken accurately and promptly.
• Maintain electronic activity logs using approved reporting systems.
• Communicate relevant information to supervisors during the shift.
• Protect confidential client, employee, visitor, and security information.
• Complete required documentation before the end of the assigned shift.
   

Customer Service & Professional Conduct

• Assist visitors, employees, contractors, and other authorized individuals when appropriate.
• Provide directions and general assistance while maintaining security responsibilities.
• Communicate respectfully and professionally with members of the public.
• Address routine concerns in accordance with established procedures.
• Represent Citadel Security USA with professionalism, integrity, and sound judgment.
   

Required Qualifications

• Active Guard Card.
• Personal firearm appropriate for assigned armed duties.
• Minimum age of 21.
• Ability to successfully complete required background screening.
• Ability to patrol premises on foot or by vehicle.
• Ability to monitor surveillance and access-control systems.
• Ability to follow post orders, property rules, company procedures, and applicable laws.
• Ability to respond appropriately to emergencies, disturbances, alarms, and suspicious activity.
• Ability to prepare accurate written and electronic reports.
• Strong attention to safety when handling and carrying a firearm.
• Reliable attendance and punctuality.
• Ability to work independently while maintaining accountability.

• Experience using application-based operational platforms such as TrackTik, Belfry, or similar systems.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise appropriate discretion.
• Demonstrated firearm proficiency and strong firearm safety knowledge.
• Ability to stand, walk, and conduct patrols for extended periods.
