Armed Security Officer

Location: Dillon, CO 80443

Schedule: Friday, Saturday & Sunday | 1:00 PM - 11:00 PM
Hours: 30 hours per week
 

Position Overview

Citadel Security USA is hiring an Armed Security Officer for a weekend assignment in Dillon. The officer will help protect people, property, and designated areas by maintaining a visible presence, conducting routine patrols, identifying potential concerns, and documenting activity throughout the shift.

This position is a good fit for an experienced security professional who is dependable, alert, comfortable working independently, and able to handle routine and unexpected situations with sound judgment.
 

Key Duties

Patrol & Protection

• Conduct regular foot patrols of assigned interior and exterior areas.
• Monitor entrances, surrounding grounds, and other designated locations.
• Look for signs of unauthorized activity, property damage, safety concerns, or unusual conditions.
• Maintain a professional armed presence throughout the assignment.
• Take appropriate action when security concerns are identified.
• Help protect employees, customers, visitors, and property in accordance with established procedures.
   

Security Response

• Respond appropriately to disturbances, suspicious activity, alarms, and other security-related concerns.
• Follow established post orders and company procedures when addressing incidents.
• Maintain situational awareness while performing patrol and observation duties.
• Contact supervisors or emergency responders when additional assistance is needed.
• Exercise sound judgment and professionalism during stressful or rapidly changing situations.
   

Reporting & Communication

• Complete accurate daily activity reports.
• Document incidents, unusual activity, property concerns, and other significant observations.
• Communicate important information to supervisors in a timely manner.
• Maintain accurate records of patrol activity and security-related events.
• Protect confidential information encountered while performing assigned duties.
   

Required Qualifications

• Must be 21 years of age or older.
• Must possess a personal firearm that meets applicable legal and company requirements.
• Ability to satisfy all applicable armed security licensing requirements.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
• Willingness to travel to Grand Junction for required training.
• Ability to work the scheduled Friday through Sunday shift consistently.
• Strong observation and situational-awareness skills.
• Ability to communicate professionally with employees, customers, visitors, and supervisors.
• Ability to successfully complete required background screening and other pre-employment requirements.

 

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous armed security experience.
• Experience conducting foot patrols and documenting security activity.
• Familiarity with incident reporting and established security procedures.
• Strong decision-making and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to remain calm and professional during challenging situations.
• Experience working independently with limited supervision.
   

Work Environment

• Primarily assigned to a combination of indoor and outdoor areas.
• Regular walking and standing during patrol activities.
• Frequent interaction with employees, customers, visitors, and other authorized personnel.
• Work may involve changing weather conditions during exterior patrols.
• Required training may involve travel to Grand Junction.
• Consistent weekend schedule with extended shifts.
