Role summary:The Senior Manager, Data Science leads advanced analytical initiatives to develop, validate, and deploy complex models that drive strategic business decisions. This role requires expertise in machine learning, statistical methods, and data visualization to translate business needs into actionable insights. The position involves mentoring team members, collaborating cross-functionally, and ensuring alignment with organizational goals. About the team:
The CDI Data Science team is integral to the Customer Data & Identity organization within Walmart US Decision Sciences. This team develops advanced machine learning, deep learning, and agentic capabilities to support products and platforms across Customer Identity, Intelligence, Segmentation, Marketing, and decisioning systems. The team applies rigorous modeling, data visualization, and analytical techniques to deliver actionable insights and scalable solutions. Collaborating closely with business stakeholders, the team drives innovation and continuous improvement to enhance customer experiences and business outcomes through data-driven strategies and cutting-edge technologies.
What you'll do:
- Lead the development, assessment, and validation of advanced analytical models using best practices to ensure accuracy, robustness, and business relevance.
- Design and implement data visualization solutions that effectively communicate complex insights to stakeholders and support decision-making.
- Translate business requirements into actionable data science projects aligned with strategic objectives and measurable outcomes.
- Guide and mentor team members on modeling techniques, feature engineering, and data analysis methodologies.
- Oversee model deployment, monitoring, and continuous improvement to maintain performance at scale.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with product, program and engineering teams to execute initiatives by identifying data sources, ensuring quality, and building data-driven business solutions.
What you'll bring:
- Extensive experience in data science, machine learning, and advanced statistical modeling techniques.
- Proficiency in Python, SQL, and data visualization tools such as Tableau, PowerBI, and Python libraries.
- Strong leadership and people management skills with a proven ability to mentor and develop teams.
- Expertise in model assessment, validation, deployment, and scaling within complex business environments.
- Solid understanding of business strategies and ability to translate data insights into actionable recommendations.
- Demonstrated project management capabilities and experience aligning technical solutions with business goals.

The annual salary range for this position is $143,000.00 - $286,000.00 Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses. Additional compensation for certain positions may also include :
