Description
Citi’s Banking franchise is organized around three lines of business: Investment Banking, Corporate Banking and Commercial Banking. The unified Banking and International organization oversees the local delivery of the full firm to clients in each of the 95 markets where Citi has an on-the-ground presence.
Citi Corporate Bank serves as the conduit of Citi’s full product suite to clients through holistically managed relationships across our unparalleled network
The Vice President role is a senior-level position supporting the leadership of the Public Sector Group (PSG) in Asia. PSG serves key clients including central banks, sovereign wealth funds, public pension funds, and other government-affiliated entities across the region. This is a high-impact, highly visible role combining regional franchise management with industry expertise — leading coverage strategy, client, and segment prioritization, and providing public sector insights that enable country bankers across Asia to deepen client engagement and grow the business. The VP also leads the regional hub team and is a key point of coordination across the broader network of ~40 bankers and partners.
Responsibilities
- Franchise Management: Support the Regional Head in overseeing business performance across Asia, leading coverage strategy, client and segment prioritization, and key thematic initiatives across key client segments. Lead risk-return governance for non-presence countries and manage the regional hub team.
- Industry Coverage & Engagement: Serve as the regional industry expert for the Asia PSG franchise, providing sector insights and strategic guidance to country bankers to strengthen client engagement. Act as a resource and thought partner for local teams when engaging PSG clients on complex, thematic or cross-border topics.
- Internal Collaboration: Act as a key liaison between regional leadership, product partners, country teams, and global counterparts to ensure strategic alignment and seamless execution of business initiatives across the franchise. Liaise with other regions to ensure full global thought leadership and coordination.
- Risk & Governance: Appropriately assess risks when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citi, its clients and assets, by adhering to all policies and applying sound ethical judgment.
Qualifications
- 8–12 years of relevant experience in institutional banking, preferably with a strong background in public sector coverage across Asia.
- Strong strategic thinking, excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage credibly with senior clients and internal stakeholders.
- Collaborative team player with the ability to influence and mobilize cross-functional and cross-border teams.
- A strong understanding of macroeconomics, geopolitics, and public policy.
Education
- Bachelor's degree/university degree or equivalent experience.
- Master’s degree and/or professional qualifications (e.g., CPA, CFA) and relevant language skills are a plus.
