Job Summary
The Senior Manager of Corporate Communications is responsible for maintaining the company’s reputation, fostering community relationships, and ensuring effective communication across various channels. This position involves collaborating with leadership, monitoring trends, and executing strategic internal and external communication initiatives. The ideal candidate will have strong writing skills, an understanding of social media, and the ability to analyze metrics for continuous improvement.
Principle Duties and Responsibilities
Internal Communications:
Ensures integrity and consistency of messages throughout the organization.
Coordinates HR communications schedule including employee announcements, benefits communications, recruiting, policy decisions, etc.
Provides strategic direction, additional scope of focus, and quality control.
Protects company messaging wherever it is used, outside of specific brand marketing.
Oversees and reviews internal communications, e.g., Best of the Bark, Shoptalk, etc.
Maintains and enhances the Intranet.
Leads social media efforts outside of marketing.
Participates in internal team for crisis communications and related technology
Works with individual leaders for communications within Segments, Business Units, and corporate.
Oversees video messaging and live “town hall” programs.
Engages/participates in special internal events.
Written messaging for internal users
External communications:
Manages ufpi.com
Manages PR including messaging, press releases, story/article placement, and speaking engagements for leadership.
Manages Investor Relations communications
Tracks, collects, and analyzes metrics to continually measure, enhance, and adapt outreach efforts
Coordinates with Marketing on publicity/outreach/messagin
Performs other duties as needed.
Qualifications
Work Experience, Certifications and Education
Ten+ years’ appropriate background/experience in PR, marketing, communications, or related disciplines
Strong communications and interpersonal relationship skills
Strong video and editing skills
Proven successful track record designing and executing public relations campaigns
Strong relationships or ability to build strong relationships with media outlets
Experience in acting as company spokesperson with broadcast and print
Exceptional writing and editing skills
Solid experience with social media, including managing activities on/strategies for all major platforms
Comfortable working with people at all levels of the organization
