The School of Medicine is seeking a high-calibre individual who excels in a dynamic, fast-paced, and multi-tasking environment to provide administrative and planning support, with a particular focus on finance, budgeting, and operational coordination as a Senior Manager (Finance & Development). The appointee is responsible for helping establish effective processes, supporting decision-making, and ensuring the smooth administration of school-wide matters.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the development and implementation of school-wide administrative plans, operational processes, and timelines to advance the School’s strategic and establishment priorities
- Provide strategic oversight and coordination for key operational functions, including finance, human resources, medical campus and development and procurement of facilities
- Work closely with senior leadership and internal stakeholders to prepare papers, reports, plans, presentations, and other materials for management review and institutional decision-making
- Monitor key deliverables across multiple workstreams, maintain accurate records and data, and ensure timely follow-up on operational and planning matters
- Provide executive and secretariat support to relevant committees and meetings, including agenda preparation, minute-taking, and tracking of actions and approvals
- Liaise with University offices and external stakeholders as required to facilitate coordinated implementation of administrative and planning initiatives
- Contribute to policy development, process improvement, and continuous enhancement of administrative efficiency and control
- Supervise and mentor junior staff where appropriate, foster a collaborative and innovative work environment in pursuit of achieving the University’s goals
- Perform any other duties as assigned
Entry Requirements
- A recognized Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related discipline, together with a professional accounting qualification and membership in a recognized accounting body such as HKICPA, ACCA, or an equivalent
- Possess a minimum of 8-10 years of relevant post-qualification work experience in a sizeable organization or tertiary institution, preferably with exposure to school administration, finance, budgeting, or planning functions. Ideal applicants should possess good knowledge of, budgeting, financial reporting, management reporting, and internal control practices; experience in higher education or the education sector is preferred
- Excellent planning, organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills, and be able to manage competing priorities and work under tight deadlines
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills are essential, together with the ability to work effectively with senior management, cross-functional teams, and external stakeholders
- A high level of attention to detail, the ability to multitask, are required. They should be proactive, collaborative, and detail-oriented working style, with a strong sense of ownership and accountability
- Proficiency in both written and spoken English and Chinese, including Cantonese and Putonghua, is necessary
- Relevant computer application and IT skills are expected
- Work outside normal office hours, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays, may occasionally be required

Starting salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Fringe benefits including annual leave, medical and dental benefits will be provided. A gratuity will be payable upon successful completion of a 2-year contract. Renewable subject to good performance and mutual agreement.
