What will you do?

A day in the life of a Director, Supply Chain Finance (FOB) at VF looks a little like this.

As Director, Supply Chain Finance (FOB), you will lead VF’s enterprise product-cost finance agenda across the brand-aligned costing team. You will partner with Brand Finance, Product Supply, Planning, Merchandising, Product Development, Sourcing and senior leadership to turn product cost, duties, tariffs and savings into clear decisions and measurable margin outcomes. You will set the common framework, methods and governance that enable dedicated brand finance partners to manage target FOB, cost benchmarks, savings realization and cost-to-P&L visibility consistently. The role leads the Product Cost Finance team and reports to the Senior Director, Product Supply FP&A.

Let’s break down that day-in-the-life a bit more.

  • Own the enterprise Target FOB (product cost) framework, including the principles, governance, data requirements and connection to Long Range Planning and seasonal go-to-market milestones.
  • Own the product-cost benchmark methodology by product subcategory and MSRP, ensuring benchmarks are decision-useful, consistently applied across brands and governed through a clear approval process.
  • Lead the AI-enabled costing roadmap, translating finance requirements into scalable benchmarking, opportunity identification, analytics and decision-support capabilities.
  • Facilitate ISR and FSR cost-governance reviews, bringing together Brand Finance and Product Supply to assess Target FOB compliance, BOM (bill of materials) and non-BOM gaps, savings actions, tariff exposure and risks to margin.
  • Approve material changes to benchmark methodologies and review late-add or post-sign-off cost requests, ensuring decisions are supported by transparent financial analysis, documented ownership and appropriate escalation.
  • Lead, coach and develop the brand-aligned Product Cost Finance team, setting priorities, allocating work, building capabilities and creating an inclusive, high-accountability operating rhythm.
  • Own the cost-compliance KPI framework and executive reporting, including Target FOB compliance, benchmark variance, FOB evolution, post-FSR drift, surcharges, standard-cost integrity, savings delivery and outstanding actions.
  • Establish a single savings-governance methodology that tracks value by brand, season, initiative and production outcome, separating identified, validated, embedded, capitalized and P&L-recognized savings without double counting.
  • Ensure pre-capitalization and post-capitalization reporting connects; target, FSR, purchase order, production FOB and standard cost to inventory, COGS, gross-margin and sales-equivalent impact.
  • Own the tariff and duty finance framework, quantifying gross exposure, mitigation actions, timing and residual net risk based on sourcing and production allocation, and coordinating enterprise-level decision support.
  • Present margin recovery, incremental savings and tariff-mitigation opportunities to VP of enterprise FP&A, GSCO and other senior stakeholders, with clear value, timing, dependencies, risks and accountable actions.
  • Drive consistency across brands while preserving brand accountability, using shared methodologies, data standards, controls, documentation, primary and backup ownership, and regular cross-brand calibration.
  • Partner with Brand Finance and Product Supply leaders to identify and deliver opportunities above committed savings targets, including yield, SMV, materials, allocation, vendor, surcharge, packaging and duty levers.
  • Embed a continuous-improvement agenda across seasonal and monthly processes, using lessons learned, automation and analytics to improve decision quality, speed, scalability and business continuity.

What do you need to succeed?

We all have unique skills that we bring to work and celebrate every day. For this leadership role, you will need at least 10 years of progressive experience in finance, FP&A, product costing, supply chain finance or a related discipline, together with demonstrated experience managing people and influencing senior stakeholders. A degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, Supply Chain or a related field is preferred; equivalent professional experience will also be considered.

The foundation skills you will need in this position are:

  • At least 10 years of progressive finance experience, with meaningful exposure to product cost, gross margin, sourcing, supply chain, inventory or consumer-product economics.
  • Previous people-management experience, including setting direction, coaching talent, building capability and holding a team accountable for outcomes.
  • Proven ability to influence and communicate with senior stakeholders, including VP FP&A, supply chain and brand leadership audiences, using concise and decision-oriented financial narratives.
  • Deep understanding of how FOB, BOM  and non-BOM costs, duties, tariffs, surcharges, standard cost, inventory capitalization and COGS translate into gross margin and business performance.
  • Experience designing and governing financial frameworks, benchmarks, KPIs and controls that create consistency across brands, business units or regions.
  • Strong value-realization discipline, with the ability to quantify savings by season and production, reconcile pre- and post-capitalization outcomes, and prevent timing or double-counting errors.
  • Advanced analytical and financial-modeling capability, with the judgment to turn complex style-, SKU-, factory- and purchase-order-level data into enterprise decisions.
  • Strong cross-functional leadership across Finance, Product Supply, Planning, Merchandising, Product Development, Sourcing, data and technology teams.
  • Ability to develop and leverage AI, automation and advanced analytics capabilities to accelerate decision-making, improve data transparency and strengthen enterprise-level cost and margin insights.
  • Location requirement: This is a full-time leadership role based in the Singapore GMT Product Supply Office.

There are also a few skills that are not required but preferred.

  • Experience in footwear and apparel product costing or finance within a global consumer-products organization.
  • Experience leading tariff, duty, country-of-origin, standard-cost, purchase price variance or inventory-capitalization analysis.
  • Experience sponsoring analytics, automation, AI or product-costing technology roadmaps and converting business requirements into scalable solutions.
  • Professional finance qualification or advanced degree, such as CPA, CA, CMA, ACCA or MBA.
