Position Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated Benefits Coordinator to join our team! This is a temporary, full-time position with an anticipated term of twelve (12) months. Continued employment beyond this period is not guaranteed This individual is responsible for assisting with the administration of all benefits and retirement programs, in addition to being the coordinator for all U.S. and Canada leave of absence activities. This position reports to the VP, Strategic Initiatives.
Job Responsibilities:
The following is a list of the key job responsibilities for the Benefits Coordinator role. This list is not intended to be an exhaustive list of all duties, responsibilities, or skills required.
Assist with the administration of all benefits and retirement programs, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, COBRA, short- and long-term disability, employee assistance program, and 401(k) plan.
Coordinate all U.S. and Canada Leave of Absence activities, including disability, FMLA and Worker's Compensation claims, personal leaves, advising on state-specific leaves, reporting from vendor systems, effectively communicating status changes and updates to employees and management, maintaining HRIS status updates, and coordinating leave payroll activities and collection of benefit premiums for all employees on leave.
Assist with providing day-to-day benefits support to HR Team and any escalated employee questions or issues for the United States and Canada.
Enroll new participants in the Employee Share Purchase Plan (ESPP), submit data updates, and conduct audits to ensure data accuracy.
Assist with the annual U.S. open enrollment process.
Monitor weekly benefit import error/update reports to ensure accuracy and partner with HRIS team to resolve discrepancies and enhance processes.
Review weekly 401(k) plan enrollments and submit data changes, in addition to a monthly audit of 401k contribution updates to payroll and resolving any discrepancies.
Submit Canada benefit continuation forms as needed for terminated employees.
Partner with vendors and HR Team to enhance communication about Wellness and benefit offerings.
Assist with the development and implementation of new benefits programs, policies, and procedures.
Maintain and improve benefits-related Standard Operating Procedures and company intranet.
Assist to resolve employee concerns and questions regarding benefit plans and enrollment as escalated by their HR resources.
Assist with the completion of required reporting and notification requirements, including worker’s compensation reporting, annual ACA reporting, Medicare Part D, etc.
Evaluate and recommend process improvement opportunities.

Qualifications:
Minimum of a two-year degree or equivalent experience.
Minimum of a two-year years’ experience in benefits and/or leave administration.
Workday HRIS experience a plus.

Salary Range (Ontario & BC Only):
The estimated base salary range for this role is CAD$29.86 - CAD$36.50 per hour. We include salary ranges in job postings only where required by applicable pay transparency laws, based on the jurisdictions in which the role may be performed.
