Msuez UK is a leading logistics and supply chain management company, providing innovative and efficient solutions to clients in various industries. We are currently seeking a highly motivated and organized Logistics Assistant to join our team in Cape Town, South Africa.

The Logistics Assistant will be responsible for supporting the logistics team in coordinating and managing the movement of goods and materials, ensuring timely and efficient delivery to our clients. This is a full-time, permanent position with opportunities for growth and development within the company.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in the coordination of shipments, both domestic and international, ensuring all necessary documentation and permits are in place
• Communicate with suppliers, carriers, and other stakeholders to ensure timely delivery of goods
• Monitor and track shipments to ensure on-time delivery and resolve any issues that may arise
• Maintain accurate records of all shipments and related documentation
• Assist in the preparation of logistics reports and provide regular updates to the team and management
• Support the logistics team in identifying and implementing process improvements to increase efficiency and reduce costs
• Collaborate with other departments to ensure smooth and timely operations
• Perform other administrative tasks as assigned by the logistics manager

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent; degree in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field is preferred
• 1-2 years of experience in logistics, supply chain, or a related field
• Strong organizational and time-management skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and logistics software
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
• Knowledge of import/export regulations and customs procedures is preferred
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, as needed
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods of time
