Job Overview:

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Logistics Assistant to join our team in Pietermaritzburg. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in logistics and transportation, and will be responsible for supporting our logistics team in various administrative and operational tasks. This is a full-time, permanent position with opportunities for growth and development within the company.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in the coordination of shipments and deliveries, including scheduling, tracking, and documentation
• Communicate with clients and suppliers to ensure timely and accurate delivery of goods
• Maintain accurate records of inventory, orders, and shipments
• Prepare and process shipping and customs documents
• Monitor and track shipment costs and expenses
• Assist with the management of warehouse operations, including inventory control and organization
• Provide support to the logistics team in resolving any issues or delays in the supply chain
• Maintain a safe and clean work environment, following all safety protocols and regulations
• Other duties as assigned by the Logistics Manager

Qualifications and Skills:

• High school diploma or equivalent, with a degree or diploma in logistics or supply chain management preferred
• 1-2 years of experience in a logistics or transportation role
• Strong organizational and time-management skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and logistics software
• Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
• Knowledge of logistics and transportation regulations and procedures
• Attention to detail and ability to multitask
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
