Group Accountant

Location: Technopark, Stellenbosch

Working Arrangement: Office-based, 5 days per week

About the Role

Vinimark / VIN Collective is looking for an experienced Group Accountant

to join their finance team at their offices in Technopark, Stellenbosch.

This is a hands-on group accounting role suited to someone who enjoys

working across multiple entities and has strong technical accounting and

reporting experience. Previous experience within the wine,

agriculture, FMCG or related industries would be advantageous,

but is not essential.

Key Responsibilities

Preparation and review of monthly management accounts and

financial reporting

Consolidation of group entities and preparation of group reporting

General ledger oversight, journals and reconciliations

Preparation and review of annual financial statements

Month-end and year-end reporting processes

Budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis

VAT, income tax and other statutory compliance

Cash flow management and financial analysis

Intercompany reconciliations and transactions

Assisting with external audits and liaising with auditors

Maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring compliance with

accounting standards

Supporting management with financial information and commercial

insights

Identifying opportunities to improve financial processes, controls and

reporting

Requirements

Group Accountant – Vinimark / VIN Collective

 

 

Relevant accounting degree or equivalent qualification

SAIPA / SAICA qualification or equivalent accounting

experience would be advantageous

At least 3–5 years' relevant accounting experience

Strong understanding of financial reporting and accounting principles

Experience working across multiple entities or within a group

environment

Good Excel skills

Experience with accounting software/ERP systems

Strong attention to detail and analytical ability

Able to work independently while collaborating effectively with the

wider team

Excellent organisational and communication skills

Advantageous

Previous experience in the wine industry

Experience within agriculture, FMCG, manufacturing or another

product-based environment

Experience with group consolidations

Exposure to inventory, stock, production or cost accounting

Experience with financial systems and process improvement

Personal Attributes

The successful candidate will be methodical, commercially minded

and hands-on, with a high level of accuracy and accountability. They

should be comfortable working with detail while also understanding the

bigger commercial picture and communicating financial information

clearly to stakeholders.

Location & Working Hours

The position is based at Technopark, Stellenbosch, and requires the

successful candidate to work 5 days per week from the office.
