He whakamārama mō te tūranga mahi | About the role

Join Watercare's Programme Delivery team and play a hands-on role in delivering infrastructure that supports Auckland's growing communities.

This is an opportunity to bring your engineering and construction expertise to the delivery of water and wastewater treatment infrastructure. Working closely with project, construction and operational teams, you'll provide on-site engineering and construction supervision, helping ensure projects are delivered safely, to the required quality standards and successfully integrated into our operational environment.

The role is currently working across our Clarks Beach and Waiuku sites, so you'll enjoy being close to project delivery and seeing the impact of your work first-hand.

In this role, you will:

• Provide construction supervision and project engineering support across treatment plant projects.
• Champion safety and quality, ensuring work meets the required standards and specifications.
• Support the Project Manager with construction and project management activities, helping identify and resolve issues as they arise.
• Work closely with project, contractor and operational teams to support successful asset integration and project delivery.
  

Ngā pūkenga e rapu nei mātou | About you

You'll be an experienced engineer who enjoys working in a practical, site-based environment and collaborating with a range of people to deliver successful project outcomes. You'll be comfortable applying your technical expertise in the field, solving problems and working across both project and operational environments.

To be successful in this role, you'll bring:

• A minimum of five years' experience in construction and/or water / wastewater engineering, with Process Engineering experience required, ideally within a treatment plant or production environment.
• Experience managing or supervising safety and quality activities, ideally across multiple sites.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to work effectively with contractors, project teams, operational teams and other stakeholders.
• A qualification in engineering, construction management or a related discipline, with a Bachelor of Engineering or similar qualification desirable.
• A full driver's licence, as travel between sites is an important part of the role.
