Job Summary:This is a primarily a guest service position assisting guests in finding and purchasing products; suggesting items; providing information about the products, location, and the park; maintaining store product levels and cleanliness; assisting management and other departments if needed.

 

The Details:Position Type: SeasonalSeason Dates: Early Nov 2026 to Mid March 2027 (depending on location)Pay: $15.70/hourSchedule: Typical schedule is 40 hours, 5 days/per week (may include weekends, evenings, and holidays)

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent guest service by adhering to Xanterra’s hospitality standards.
• Perform all cashiering duties while adhering to cash handling policies.
• Suggest an add-on sale to every transaction performed.
• Stock product as necessary, making sure all displays are kept stocked, neat and clean within the guidelines of the Visual Merchandising Manual.
• Provide excellent guest service and maintain your floor zone if assigned one.
• Keep the sales floor clean; which includes sweeping, vacuuming, dusting, mopping, and trash removal.
• Give accurate helpful information to guests.
• Comply with Xanterra’s Environmental Management Systems and look for ways to improve the impact your job has on the environment.
• Discuss concerns only with the manager. Alert manager to shrinkage, guest problems and concerns. Maintain a good working relationship with Managers and co-workers.
• Maintain a safe work area.

Qualifications

• Must be able to communicate professionally and with courtesy.
• Able to operate a point of sales system, open and close the store with or without assistance.
• Demonstrate a basic understanding of Gift Shop procedures by completing the Gift Shop Training Program.
• Able to function with flexibility and courteous behavior in a high traffic seasonal retail operation.
• Acquire and demonstrate a basic knowledge of product information.
• Able to work with a minimum of supervision. Maintain excellent attendance and punctuality. Take breaks in appropriate area for limited time and use the time clock correctly.
• Willingness to work holidays, weekends, and flexible shifts.

Physical Requirements include:

• Able to stand/walk on a concrete surface for a minimum eight-hour shift.
• Able to lift and move goods weighing 50 pounds, and up to 100 pounds or more with assistance.
• Able to frequently bend down or kneel to stock product during a shift. Must be able to frequently move up and down ladders to put away and pull stock during a shift.
• Must be able to work in hot, cold, and dusty environments at elevations above 5000’.
• Must be able to work in close proximity of large game animals like elk, while respecting their space and not approaching.
• Must have hand dexterity capable of sorting paperwork and small items.
