Job Summary:

This role involves creating a positive and efficient work environment for Distribution Center (DC) staff through training, team building, and feedback. Key responsibilities include overseeing DC operations, managing inventory accuracy, coordinating with vendors and retail operations, and ensuring compliance with safety and environmental standards. The role also includes supervising mail order fulfillment, conducting audits, and supporting store operations as needed.

Pay: $1,788.00/bi-weeklySchedule: Typical schedule is 40 hours, 5 days/per week (may include weekends, evenings, and holidays)

Responsibilities

• Responsible for assigning and managing all duties of Distribution Center staff positions with the guidance of the Retail Director and Assistant Director.
• Directs RDC Assistant Manager on daily and weekly goals, and any new policies and procedures.
• Assumes responsibility for accurate merchandise control by RDC staff:
  • Check in merchandise against packing slip, noting over/shorts, and damages.
  • Accurately price each item.
  • Unload freight delivery trucks and keep carton counts.
  • Develop a systematic way of stocking warehouse shelves.
  • Plan and distribute work assignments to accomplish weekly goals.
  • Teach and demonstrate skills required.
  • Assist Distribution Center Staff in maintaining a high standard of accuracy.
• Schedule freight deliveries to gift shop locations; includes loading and shipping.
• Assist the retail team with shop closings and inventories.
• Prepare warehouse for summer and winter staffing seasons; final inventory, storage and updating of Distribution Center floor.
• Maintain records of all Distribution Center deliveries and shipments; manage returns, credits, vendor charge-backs, and shipping damage claims.
• Able to assist with processing orders in our mail order department.
• All other duties as assigned
• Reporting of facility maintenance issues to location maintenance management

Qualifications

• Must have a minimum of 3 years experience in warehouse operations.
• Must have a strong knowledge of receiving, transferring and distribution procedures pertaining to Retail Department inventory control; able to read and understand vendor packing slips, issue documents and inventory computer print-outs.
• Previous work experience with basic filing and accounting procedures preferred.
• Able to correctly and safely use and train staff on a variety of Distribution Center tools and equipment items; computers, ticketing marking tools, box cutters, carts, hand-trucks, pallet jacks, ladders, unloading ramps, brooms and calculators.
• Able to encourage cooperation between all members of the distribution center staff, with attention to overcoming tedious work assignments.
• Work with a minimum of supervision; excellent attendance and punctuality.
• Attentiveness to pilferage prevention
• Must possess and maintain a valid drivers license.

Preferred Qualifications (if applicable):

• Prior experience in retail warehouse or store operations.
• Prior experience in paperwork processing and filing according to policy
• Prior experience in supervising staff in a fast-paced operation.

 

Physical Requirements include:

• Able to stand/walk on a concrete surface for a minimum eight-hour shift.
• Able to lift and move goods weighing 50 pounds, and up to 100 pounds or more with assistance.
• Able to frequently bend down or kneel to stock product during a shift.  Must be able to frequently move up and down ladders to put away and pull stock during a shift.
• Must be able to work in hot, cold, and dusty environments at elevations above 5000’.
• Must be able to work in close proximity of large game animals like elk, while respecting their space and not approaching.
• Must have hand dexterity capable of sorting paperwork and small items.
