What you will do
We are seeking an experienced and proactive Field Procurement Buyer to be responsible for sourcing materials and services, managing supplier relationships, supporting project and operational procurement requirements, and ensuring compliance with Johnson Controls procurement policies and procedures. The role works closely with internal and external stakeholders to secure competitive pricing, optimize total cost of ownership, mitigate supply chain risks, and support project profitability.
The Buyer will be based in our Al Quoz, Dubai office and will be responsible for end-to-end procurement activities, including but not limited to quote evaluation, negotiations, supplier performance management, and ensuring timely delivery of customer requirements.
How you will do it
Contribute to Procurement targets such as generating savings, improving company trade working capital and expanding project margins;
Prepares, executes, and analyzes competitive bids utilizing RFx and supporting commercial negotiations relating to pricing, delivery schedules, payment terms, and contractual agreements.
Align with existing category strategies to leverage negotiated agreements, reduce procurement risks, improve supplier performance, ensure compliance, and maximize overall value
Identify and support cost reduction, value engineering, and process improvement opportunities.
Collaborate with suppliers and JCI teams to develop strong business relationships;
Participate in supplier reviews and continuous improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing performance and reducing risk.
Work effectively with various JCI Procurement systems, tools, & ERPs;
Apply JCI procurement processes and understand their interaction with other workflows within the organization;
Be cognizant of supply chain risks, including shortages, capacity constraints, long lead-time items, and sole-source dependencies and escalate as needed;
Gain knowledge and understanding supply chain principles to support internal audits and associated action plans;
Participate in continuous improvement projects to enhance procurement and supply chain performance.
What we look for
Essential
Minimum 3 years' experience in a Buyer, Purchasing, Procurement, or Supply Chain role.
Qualification in Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Business, Engineering, or a related discipline.
Experience operating within a Field Procurement or Project environment.
Strong supplier management and commercial negotiation skills.
Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
Experience using ERP systems and Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
Preferred
Procurement Experience with HVAC, Controls and Security-related categories.
Knowledge of Iscala ERP platform.
Existing or actively pursuing professional procurement certification.
