Description
Description
This is an opportunity to lead manufacturing engineering work close to the people, products, and processes it supports. You will help shape how new products enter production, solve current manufacturing challenges, and build improvements that last.
? Technical leadership with a direct connection to production and product quality.
? A broad manufacturing environment spanning electronics, SMT, fabrication, and integration.
? Cross-functional work with Product Engineering, Quality, and Production.
? Room to apply data, experimentation, Lean principles, and practical engineering judgment.
WHO YOU ARE
You are an engineering leader who likes solving problems where the work happens. You can set priorities, develop people, and work across functions while staying grounded in technical details and production needs.
You’re a strong fit if you:
• Have 4+ years of manufacturing engineering experience, including technical leadership or supervisory responsibility.
• Have a bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering, or equivalent relevant experience.
• Bring experience with electronics manufacturing, SMT, PCB assembly, or metal fabrication.
• Can use SolidWorks, ERP systems, manufacturing documentation, and engineering change processes.
• Have improved productivity, solved complex manufacturing problems, and implemented sustainable process changes.
• Communicate clearly, organize work, and collaborate across engineering, quality, and production teams.
• Have experience with Lean manufacturing, process validation, and continuous improvement; these are preferred.
WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING
You will lead the manufacturing engineering team and support the processes, equipment, and documentation used to build RDL products. The role combines planning and technical leadership with regular hands-on involvement on the manufacturing floor.
• Lead and develop the team. Set priorities for the Manufacturing Engineering team and support effective execution of engineering projects and production needs.
• Improve manufacturing processes. Develop, validate, and optimize processes using Lean principles, data analysis, experimentation, and continuous improvement to improve productivity, throughput, and quality.
• Design for manufacturability. Partner with Product Engineering on mechanical and electrical designs so products are safe, manufacturable, cost-effective, and intuitive to build.
• Bring new products into production. Develop manufacturing methods, tooling, fixtures, documentation, and process validation for new product introduction.
• Support production and resolve problems. Lead troubleshooting and root cause analysis for manufacturing defects, equipment issues, and process failures, then implement corrective actions.
• Manage engineering changes. Oversee ECRs, bills of materials, manufacturing routings, work instructions, and production documentation in Expandable ERP.
• Evaluate equipment and reliability. Assess equipment and automation opportunities, coordinate preventive maintenance planning, improve reliability, and ensure installations are production ready.
• Strengthen quality and safety. Work with Quality and Production to improve repeatability and process capability, support applicable IPC standards and customer requirements, and build safe practices into processes and equipment. Oversee applicable Safety Data Sheets.
• Measure and sustain improvements. Evaluate processes and equipment, develop experiments, and implement improvements that produce measurable results.
Requirements
Physical Demands and Working Environment
Combination of office and manufacturing floor activities, including computer use, standing, walking, and occasional bending. Regular hands-on involvement with manufacturing equipment and processes is expected.
Benefits
Medical, dental, and vision coverage; 401(k) with company match; life and disability insurance; paid time off; and Employee Assistance Program.
Equal Opportunity Employer
