The Department of Finance at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi invites applications for a 9-month tenure track, Assistant Professor of Finance, starting in Fall 2027. This position will require a doctoral degree in Financial Planning or Finance from an AACSB-accredited institution. The Department seeks candidates whose academic preparation and teaching interests complement its programs in financial planning education, including preparation for the Certified Financial Planner™ (CFP®) examination.
The successful candidate will be expected to teach primarily undergraduate and/or graduate courses that support the financial planning curriculum and prepare students for the CFP® certification examination. Teaching responsibilities may include courses in areas such as principles of financial planning, retirement planning, estate planning, tax planning, insurance and risk management, investment planning, employee benefits, and financial planning capstone. The faculty member should also be prepared to teach other finance courses as needed by the department, including but not limited to corporate finance, investments, financial institutions, personal finance, and related areas.
The successful candidate must be able to teach effectively in multiple instructional modalities, including face-to-face, hybrid, online, hyflex, and other formats as assigned by the department. The candidate will also be expected to maintain an active research agenda, contribute to the scholarly mission of the department and the college, advise and mentor students, participate in curriculum development, and provide service to the department, the college, the university, the profession, and the community.

Required Qualifications:
Doctoral degree in Financial Planning or Finance from an AACSB-accredited institution. Advanced ABD candidates will be considered; the degree must be conferred at the time of appointment.
Must have earned the CFP designation or completed all educational requirements necessary to sit for the CFP® exam, which must be passed within 2 years of employment.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience teaching courses aligned with CFP® Board educational requirements
Relevant finance certifications
Professional and industry experience in finance-related fields.
Experience teaching online/hyflex courses
Experience teaching graduate courses
Engagement with student activities
