Position Summary
The L&D coordinator will serve as a training and development resource, be a hands-on proficient user of Firm systems and seek to streamline processes and procedures. As the L&D Coordinator you will have ownership for the integrity, accuracy, and informational quality of overall development functions and compliance with personnel documentation. The L&D Coordinator will also oversee activities including Onboarding/Exiting employees; reviewing and updating training matrices for all departments; Serve as a back office tech and lead in-house; and reviewing and reporting required weekly and monthly metrics, such as KPIs.
This position is expected to manage the learning and development processes and interact effectively with all levels of the organization within Talley, including reviewing and supporting the documentation, creating trainings, review, and improvement of policies, procedures and administrative practices.
Based on how this position has evolved, I would add the following in terms of responsibilities or position summary:
- Work with firm management to insure each employee has a Balance Scorecard
- Work with department management to insure employees are meeting regularly and consistently with their direct reports; the BSC is maintained current; and the BSC is used as a timely and accurate tool for the employee to stay on track to achieve agreed-upon objectives.
- Work with firm and department management to create and maintain Success Profiles and standard BSC’s for each position in the department and the firm.
- Work with the Firm Administrator to maintain an open and transparent line of communications between management, leadership and the team, via touch base calls, scheduled events and other communications.
- Act as a resource for department management to provide support and resources to team members in preparing, updating and maintaining individual BSC’s.
- Work with PMO Director on special projects for Recruiting Process Outsourcing to expand labor pool and new initiatives

Key Deliverables
The most significant accomplishment will be to have the Learning & Development Coordinator build and manage staff relationships alongside the firm administrator performing staff touch base calls monthly. Gaining high level knowledge of each department, the services offered and understanding what is expected of each staff member is critical to this role. The position will support the Managing Partner and Firm Administrator to achieve the firm's development objectives. The expected deliverables from this role are as follows:
- 30 Days:
- Complete training on Practice CS (PCS). Operate at a basic level of competence at time entry and accessing information in the billing system
- Complete Microsoft Suite tests - minimum 3/5 score on each module (Outlook, Word, and Excel). If necessary, obtain training to increase proficiency where scores mandate.
- Be able handle all Personnel tasks
- Onboarding checklist signed-off by Management.
- 60 Days:
- Observe and participate in onboarding and exits.
- Introduce time entry submission process. Review the documented process for closing and recommend edits to more fully describe the process. [Note recommendations for improvement are expected after the 2nd observation, but encouraged if identified.]

- 90 Days:
- Demonstrate an ability to apply firm procedures and to work with the partners and department heads in implementing development initiatives.
- Implement BSC reporting process designed by the Managing Partner.
- Demonstrate competent and thorough communication skills
- Assist in developing reports for partner group as necessary
- Regarding the billing and collection procedures:
- Confirm existing documentation is complete and accurate.
- 180 Days:
- Demonstrate a thorough understanding of PCS, including the ability to generate client, department and other reports.
Preferred Attributes
Successful applicants will have a minimum of 5+ years of administrative experience.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or related field required
