Quality Manager

                                 

Summary

The Quality Manager provides leadership, oversight, and guidance for the local Times Microwave Systems Quality Team. The Manager is responsible for Quality Assurance and Control teams supporting the local facility, ensuring compliance to AS9100, and driving continuous improvement initiatives. In addition, the Quality Manager collaborates daily with Sales, Operations, Engineering, and other employees to respond to information requests and resolve non-conformities. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Manages direct reports including the Quality Engineering and Inspection functions.
• Coaches and directs the team to develop and maintain collaborative working relationships with both internal and external customers, driving improved customer service.
• Utilizes the CAPA (Corrective and Preventive Action) tool to track, address and solve internal and external root cause evaluations.
• Drive a "continuous improvement" company culture with respect to problem solving
• Verifies effectiveness of problem resolution by monitoring production performance after implementation.
• Works directly with customers and suppliers for quality audits, source inspections and quality concerns
• Develops, implements, and maintains documents and procedures in compliance with industry standards.
• Represents the Quality function for new product introduction and program launches, ensuring customer requirements are met, validate processes, develop inspection plans, etc.
• Participate in contract review to help ensure company compliance to requirements
• Provide technical guidance and training to the manufacturing team on quality standards and best practices.
• Oversee and coordinate First Article Inspection (FAI) with the team to verify the manufacturing processes and ensure the product meets specified requirements.
• Participate in Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) teams and feed inputs from manufacturing floor for an effective analysis.
• Implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality and manufacturing efficiency.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address and resolve quality issues.

Qualifications/Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in engineering (Mechanical, Aeronautical, Electrical) or related field
• Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Quality Engineer in the aerospace industry.
• Proficiency in using DISCUS and Net-Inspect for FAI and FAIRs.
• Proficiency in AS9100 and AS9102 (First Article Inspection and Reporting).
• Experience in new product qualification and validation testing is a plus.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and a strong attention to detail.
• The ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
