JOB SUMMARY

We are seeking a Sales Solution Engineer with a mission-first mindset and focus on real operational outcomes. This role owns delivery of customer-facing technology and customer success. The ideal candidate should be accustomed to working in a fast-paced environment and enjoys working on complex challenges.

 

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop complete space-based mission concepts supporting proposals based on Momentus offerings and customer needs
• Translate program needs into technical narratives, clearly explaining how Momentus capabilities map to requirements, constraints, and outcomes
• Pitch the technology with credibility, leveraging your space mission and domain background to build trust with program managers and technical authorities
• Navigate programmatic realities, including requirements development, budgeting cycles, contracting pathways, and stakeholder coordination
• Partner closely with product managers and engineers to ensure mission context is accurately reflected in technical scope, tradeoffs, and delivery plans
• Perform engineering trade studies, develop system budgets, and answer system design questions
• Perform spacecraft performance and constellation configuration evaluation

 

Required Skills and Experience

• Experience designing and presenting complex space systems and solutions that bridge the gap between business problems and technology to meet organizational goals, budget, and scalability needs
• Expertise in space systems engineering
• Strong ability to scope, pitch, and sell technical solutions to stakeholders — not just explain missions, but connect them to capabilities
• Proven experience navigating programmatic realities, including budgets, requirements, authorities, timelines, and stakeholder dynamics
• Ability to work independently
• Excellent technical communications skills
• Good written and verbal communication skills

 

Desired Skills and Experience:

• Spacecraft or space-specific Systems Engineering experience
• High enthusiasm for building something new and shaping how cutting-edge technology is adopted
• Previous experience working on DoD and other USG development and deployment programs
• Ability to hold and maintain a USG Security Clearance

 

Education & Work Experience:

• B.S. in Engineering or related field
• 10+ year relevant experience

 

Compensation:

Annual Base Salary Range: $140,000.00 - $175,000.00/per year
Base pay is one part of our total compensation package (base+bonus+equity) and is determined within a range. Your actual base salary will be determined on job-related knowledge and skills, education, and experience.  Our benefit plans include medical, dental, and vision insurance, 401k retirement plan, short and long term disability and life insurance. We also offer flexible PTO, along with 11 paid holidays, sick time and paid parental leave.

 

This is a full-time position in San Jose, California. This position requires access to export-controlled commodities, technical data, technology, software, and services. U.S. citizenship, U.S. legal permanent resident status, or protected person status under 8 U.S.C. § 1324b(a)(3) is required.
