Job Description
Role: Sales Engineer, Travel
Location: New York City
THE OPPORTUNITY
We are seeking a commercially minded, strategic Sales Engineer with Travel industry experience to translate MiQ’s capabilities across media, data, technology, and measurement into differentiated solutions that address the unique needs of Travel and Tourism marketers. In addition to supporting strategic client opportunities, this role will play a key part in building and scaling MiQ’s Travel vertical - supporting the development of our go-to-market approach, identifying opportunities for new solutions and partnerships, and equipping our sales teams to bring MiQ’s Travel offering to market effectively.
Sitting at the intersection of sales, product, strategy, data, and activation, this role will serve as MiQ’s Travel subject matter expert and strategic partner to our sales teams. You will bring an existing understanding of the Travel ecosystem - whether through experience with travel and tourism brands, agencies, destination marketing organizations, hospitality, airlines, or technology and data partners serving the category - and use that expertise to uncover advertiser needs, shape sales conversations, influence internal priorities, and strengthen how MiQ shows up in the market.
The ideal candidate combines Travel category expertise, strong knowledge of digital media and ad tech, commercial instincts, and strategic storytelling skills. They are equally comfortable advising a seller, contributing to a client pitch, recommending a solution against a complex brief, and working cross-functionally to turn emerging Travel needs into scalable opportunities for MiQ.

YOUR PERSONALITY

- Unity – We hold each other accountable. We win and lose as a team.
- Agility – We anticipate the unexpected, embrace and adapt to change.
- Courage – We dare to think unconventionally.
WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING
- Serve as MiQ’s Travel subject matter expert, bringing a strong understanding of the Travel ecosystem, advertiser priorities, industry trends, and client challenges into sales and strategic conversations
- Partner with Sales to translate client needs into differentiated solutions and compelling narratives, connecting MiQ’s capabilities across media, data, technology, and measurement to the specific challenges Travel marketers are trying to solve
- Support strategic Travel opportunities throughout the pre-sale cycle, including client discovery, solution development, pitches, RFPs, and presentations, with a focus on driving pipeline and revenue growth
- Bring a Travel-specific point of view and voice of the customer into cross-functional work with Product, Marketing, Sales Planning, and other teams to help shape MiQ’s Travel go-to-market approach, including vertical narratives, solutions, use cases, sales materials, and enablement
- Identify recurring client needs, market trends, and capability gaps, and work with relevant teams to inform new solutions, partnerships, product enhancements, and commercial opportunities
- Equip sellers with the knowledge and resources to identify Travel opportunities, understand advertiser challenges, and confidently position MiQ’s solutions
- Build strong relationships with Travel clients and agency partners, using client conversations to deepen MiQ’s understanding of the market and uncover opportunities to grow our offering and business
- Collaborate across teams to ensure proposed solutions are strategically compelling for clients while also feasible, executable, and scalable
- Stay close to the evolving Travel and advertising landscape, bringing emerging trends, technologies, data opportunities, and competitive insights back into the organization
HOW SUCCESS WILL BE MEASURED IN THIS OPPORTUNITY
- Measurable growth in Travel vertical revenue
- Increased pipeline and commercial opportunities across Travel and Tourism advertisers
- MiQ’s capabilities are effectively translated into differentiated Travel narratives and solutions that reflect the specific needs, challenges, and opportunities of the category
- A clear Travel-specific point of view and voice of the customer consistently informs MiQ’s go-to-market approach and cross-functional priorities
- Sales teams are equipped with the Travel-specific expertise, narratives, and strategic support needed to identify opportunities and confidently bring MiQ’s capabilities to Travel clients
YOUR QUALIFICATIONS

- Meaningful experience within the Travel industry or supporting Travel advertisers, including tourism and destination marketing, hospitality, airlines, online travel, or other Travel-related businesses
- Strong understanding of the needs and challenges facing Travel marketers, including audience strategy, the consumer journey, seasonality, market-level considerations, and measurement
- Familiarity with Travel-specific data, audience, attribution, and measurement partners and methodologies
- Strong understanding of the digital advertising ecosystem, including programmatic media, audience targeting, data, measurement, and channels such as CTV, social, and YouTube
- Experience developing strategic media recommendations and translating complex capabilities into clear, compelling solutions and client-facing narratives
- Strong presentation and storytelling skills, with confidence participating in client meetings, pitches, RFPs, and strategic conversations
- A commercial mindset with the ability to connect client challenges and market opportunities to solutions and revenue growth
