Title and Summary

Analyst, Business Development

Mastercard's Philippines Acceptance and Retail & Commerce team works across the payments ecosystem to grow acceptance and deepen relationships with merchants, acquirers and other partners. We are looking for an Analyst, Business Development to provide analytical and commercial support across merchant and acceptance activities in the Philippines. The role combines data analysis, customer communication and business development support, helping the team turn insights into stronger commercial conversations and execute initiatives effectively. You will support merchant opportunities, promotions, partner business reviews and other commercial activities while building an understanding of the payments ecosystem. Working within a collaborative local team, this is an opportunity to gain broad exposure to Mastercard's business and develop commercial, analytical and stakeholder-management capabilities.


Role

• Support business development activities across Mastercard's merchant, acceptance and acquiring relationships in the Philippines.
• Analyse customer and transaction data to identify insights that support merchant opportunities, commercial discussions and business decisions.
• Prepare analysis and supporting materials for merchant and acquirer business reviews and other customer discussions.
• Support the development and execution of merchant promotions, including coordinating and communicating relevant promotion information to Mastercard customers.
• Respond to routine customer questions and coordinate internally to ensure accurate and timely follow-up.
• Support commercial discussions and longer-term opportunities by preparing relevant data, insights and presentation materials.
• Work closely with colleagues across the Philippines business and relevant cross-functional teams to support customer initiatives.
• Assist with presentations, reports and commercial materials that translate data and business information into clear insights.
• Build knowledge of Mastercard's payments ecosystem, including merchants, acceptance, acquiring and transaction processing, while progressively taking on broader responsibility.

• Demonstrated experience in a commercial, sales, marketing, analytical or customer-focused roles.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with an interest in using data to answer commercial questions and generate meaningful insights.
• Clear and confident communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with both internal and external stakeholders.
• Commercial curiosity and mindset, with an interest in understanding customers, business drivers and the broader payments ecosystem.
• Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining attention to detail.
• A proactive and self-motivated approach, with the confidence to take initiative, seek out opportunities to contribute and learn quickly.
• Collaborative working style and a genuine team-player mindset, particularly within a lean, cross-functional environment.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint, with exposure to data visualisation or other analytical tools considered advantageous.
• Exposure to sales, marketing, business development or customer management would be advantageous.
• Knowledge of payments, financial services, fintech, retail or e-commerce would be beneficial but is not essential.
