THE POSITION
Victory Live is seeking a Senior Software Engineer in an Engineering Lead role to provide hands-on technical leadership for our consumer-facing ticketing products. These products include white-label web storefronts, checkout experiences, and mobile applications that connect fans with live-event inventory through Victory Live’s broader ticketing platform.

This role is for an experienced engineer who can set technical direction, contribute directly to the codebase, and create the clarity a distributed team needs to deliver effectively. The B2C Engineering Lead will partner closely with Product, Design, and Engineering Leadership to translate customer and business priorities into reliable software, improve engineering execution, and evolve the platform without losing sight of the consumer experience.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Own technical execution for Victory Live’s B2C platform across consumer web, checkout, mobile, and supporting backend services
• Lead the design and implementation of complex or high-impact initiatives while contributing directly to production code
• Establish clear technical direction, decompose product goals into executable engineering plans, and surface tradeoffs, dependencies, and delivery risks early
• Strengthen engineering execution across a distributed team through thoughtful planning, estimation, code review, release readiness, and follow-through
• Partner with Product and Design to improve the full consumer journey, including discovery, page performance, account experiences, checkout, payments, and post-purchase fulfillment
• Own production quality for the B2C platform through observability, incident response, root-cause analysis, and continuous reliability improvements
• Improve platform scalability and resilience for concentrated, high-demand on-sales and other revenue-critical traffic events
• Participate in on-call triage and assessment when needed
• Guide the evolution of a multi-tenant, white-label platform, balancing shared capabilities with the needs of affiliates, brands, and end consumers
• Coordinate effectively across internal platform teams, contractors, and external development partners, with clear technical boundaries and accountability
• Help other engineers grow through code reviews, design discussions, pairing, and knowledge sharing; raise the team’s ability to make sound technical decisions independently
• Strengthen engineering standards for architecture, testing, security, documentation, deployment, and operational ownership

 

REQUIREMENTS

• 7+ years of professional software engineering experience, including experience leading technical delivery for a team or major product area
• Strong hands-on experience with modern TypeScript and JavaScript application development, including:
  • React and Next.js
  • Node.js backend or serverless services
  • React Native and Expo, or comparable mobile application experience
  • Integration with Rails/Python backends
  • SQL and relational databases such as PostgreSQL
• Experience designing, operating, and evolving consumer-facing systems in a production environment
• Experience with cloud-native delivery platforms such as AWS and Vercel, along with containerized or serverless workloads
• Strong understanding of API design, distributed systems, authentication, caching, asynchronous workflows, and third-party integrations
• Strong foundation with the pillars of observability (logging, metrics, tracing), alerting, incident response, tools such as Datadog, Sentry, or comparable monitoring and logging platforms
• Strong foundation in comprehensive testing, unit, integration and end-to-end testing, test-driven development.
• Proven ability to own systems end to end—from architecture and implementation through deployment, production support, and continuous improvement
• Demonstrated ability to lead through influence, create clarity in ambiguous situations, and help distributed engineers work effectively as a team
• Strong product judgment and empathy for end users, with the ability to connect technical decisions to performance, reliability, conversion, and customer trust
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain technical tradeoffs to product and business partners
• Experience with e-commerce, checkout, payments, marketplaces, ticketing, or multi-tenant SaaS platforms is a plus
