Essential Job Functions
The Corporate Tax Accountant will support Cretex Companies and its multiple operating subsidiaries in the medical device contract manufacturing industry. This position is primarily responsible for corporate income tax compliance, reporting, workpaper preparation, and related accounting activities for the holding company and its subsidiaries, with a primary focus on federal income tax and supporting state and local tax compliance.
This role is well suited for a detail-oriented tax professional who can gather and organize financial data, prepare accurate tax schedules, assist with income tax filings, maintain documentation, and support the broader tax function in a complex, multi-entity environment.
This is an on-site role, transitioning to a hybrid position based in Elk River, MN with an expectation of three days per week in the office to collaborate with cross-functional teams and effectively support business operations.
Responsibilities
Essential Job Functions
- Assist with the preparation of corporate income tax returns, extensions, and estimated tax payments.
- Prepare income tax workpapers, book-to-tax adjustments, fixed asset schedules, depreciation calculations, and other supporting documentation required for tax compliance.
- Gather and organize financial data from accounting systems, subsidiaries, and business teams to support tax filings and reporting.
- Assist with quarterly and annual income tax provision support, including preparation of schedules and documentation for current and deferred tax calculations.
- Assist with documentation and data gathering for applicable tax credits and incentives as directed by tax leadership.
- Assist with tax notices, audits, and inquiries by gathering data, preparing schedules, and organizing supporting documentation.
- Conduct basic income tax research and summarize findings for review by tax leadership.
- Maintain tax files, workpapers, return support, and other documentation in accordance with company policies and internal control requirements.
- Support external tax advisors and auditors by preparing requested schedules and documentation.
- Contribute to tax process improvements, automation opportunities, and enhancements to workpaper organization and documentation.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements, Education & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, taxation, or related field.
- 1–3 years of corporate income tax compliance, public accounting, or related accounting experience.
- Basic understanding of corporate income tax compliance requirements at the federal and state level.
- Experience preparing tax workpapers, account reconciliations, schedules, or financial analysis.
- Experience with corporate tax preparation software (OneSource, Corptax, ProSystem/Access Tax or similar)
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office
- Ability to gather, organize, and analyze financial data accurately.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work both independently and in a collaborative team environment.
- Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and discretion.
Desirable Criteria & Qualifications
- CPA candidate or interest in pursuing CPA certification
- Experience in a multi-entity corporate environment or public accounting firm
- Experience in the medical device, manufacturing, or contract manufacturing industry

Pay Range
USD $56,400.00 - USD $84,600.00 /Yr.Pay Range Details
This pay range reflects the base hourly rate or annual salary for positions within this job grade, based on our market-based pay structures. Actual compensation will depend on factors such as skills, relevant experience, education, internal equity, business needs, and local market conditions. While the full hiring range is shared for transparency, offers are rarely made at the minimum or maximum of the range.
