Job Details:

Purpose:
Social Media Student Ambassadors bring University Housing and Dining's social media presence to life through original, engaging content. Under the supervision of the Social Media Strategist, you will work within a fast-paced, highly collaborative and creative team, sharpening your creative voice while building real-world experience in content creation, marketing, and digital storytelling.

Responsibilities:

Content Creation

  • Shoot, edit, and produce original content — photos, videos, reels, graphics — that feels authentic, on-trend, and true to the UHD brand voice.
  • Appear on camera when needed to host, narrate, or bring personality to content; be a visible, engaging presence across platforms.
  • Capture real-time content at events, translating live moments into compelling posts and stories.
  • Pitch original content ideas and formats, bringing fresh creative concepts to the team while ensuring everything aligns with brand and style guidelines to reflect the UHD and University brands professionally.

Campaign Execution

  • Help shape social media campaigns from the ground up — brainstorming concepts, building rollout timelines, determining content needs, and producing the final assets.
  • Partner with the marketing, creative, and communications teams throughout the creative process to bring campaign ideas to life.

Analytics and Reporting

  • Track content and campaign performance, analyze what's resonating with audiences, and use those insights to shape future content decisions.
  • Build reports for different audiences that highlight key metrics and content effectiveness, in collaboration with the social media, content, and creative teams.

Research and Trends

  • Stay plugged into emerging social media trends, formats, and platform features; bring fresh ideas back to the team and translate them into content.
  • Research how peer institutions are showing up on social media and present findings to inform the team's content strategy.

Required Qualifications:

  • Must be a current UT student

  • Experience with Instagram, Instagram Reels, X (Twitter) and/or Facebook
  • Experience with Sprout Social or other social media analytics tools
