Finance Manager

Take ownership of the finance and accounting function at AnyMind Malaysia. What You'll Do

Finance Operations

• Oversee end-to-end AP and AR for Malaysia entities, including vendor and customer setup, supplier invoice recording (SG&A and COS), billing, payment preparation and collections. Day-to-day processing is done by the team; you review and approve.
• Handle corporate-related payments directly and ensure all payments follow approval and control requirements.
• Work with Sales and Operations to keep billing accurate and timely. Drive follow-up on overdue receivables and unbilled items, and keep AR aging current.
• Review employee expense claims for policy compliance.
• Oversee intercompany transactions, reconciliations and balance confirmations with Group entities.
• Ensure finance documents are properly maintained and filed.

 

Cash, Bank & Working Capital

• Monitor the daily cash position and review monthly bank reconciliations for accuracy and timely completion.
• Support cash flow planning and working capital management, and escalate liquidity risks to the Malaysia Finance Head early.

 

Month-End Close & Reporting

• Own the monthly, quarterly and annual close, meeting Regional and Group Finance deadlines.
• Review journals, accruals, prepayments, fixed assets and balance sheet reconciliations, and ensure open items are resolved.
• Prepare and review the monthly P&L, Balance Sheet and cash flow reports, with variance analysis against budget, forecast and prior periods.
• Support budgeting and forecasting.

 

Tax, Audit & Compliance

• Coordinate with external auditors on annual statutory audits, including supporting schedules and documentation.
• Work with tax agents on Malaysia tax matters: corporate income tax, tax estimates and instalments, SST, WHT, and tax authority queries.
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards, statutory requirements and Group Finance policies.
• Support internal controls, internal audit and J-SOX initiatives.

 

Team Leadership & Business Partnering

• Lead, coach and allocate work across the two-person Malaysia Finance team. Review their output (AP, AR, bank reconciliations, closing schedules) and act as the escalation point for operational issues.
• Advise business teams (Sales, Operations, HR, Admin) on accounting treatment, billing, payments and tax.
• Identify and drive process, control and automation improvements across NetSuite, Excel and Google Sheets.
• Support Regional and Group Finance projects and ad hoc analysis.

 

Who You Are

• Degree or professional qualification in Accounting or Finance (ACCA, CPA, MIA or equivalent preferred).
• 5–8 years of accounting experience, including full-set accounts and month-end close.
• Good knowledge of Malaysian accounting standards, tax (CIT, SST, WHT) and statutory requirements.
• Strong grasp of AP, AR, GL, bank reconciliation, close, tax and audit processes.
• Strong Excel skills. Google Sheets proficiency is an advantage.
• Strong analytical, organisational and stakeholder management skills. Able to work independently and manage multiple deadlines.
• NetSuite or other ERP experience is a plus.
• Experience in a multinational, tech, digital marketing, advertising or e-commerce environment is a plus.
• Experience in supervising or managing a team is a plus.
• Proficient in Bahasa Malaysia and/or Mandarin in both writing and speaking is a plus.
