Job Description:
SUMMARY:
Responsible for developing, administering and directing departmental policies and procedures, which ensure the proper ordering, handling and storage of all supplies on the property, so as to minimize potential loss to the company. To provide assistance and back up to the Director of Purchasing when necessary and effectively utilize available tools to maximize inventory accuracy, control and quality of product.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
• Coordinates and supervises the activities of all Warehouse/Receiving and Inventory Control Employees on property. Works directly with the Culinary Department and Venue Management to maintain product quality, timely deliveries and accurate inventories.
• Maintains a thorough working knowledge of dry goods, paper products, chemical supplies, and Food & Beverage specifications.
• Ensures adequate staffing levels in the Warehouse/ Receiving Department and Inventory Control Department, by interviewing, selecting, training, scheduling, evaluating, assisting with career development, promoting, disciplining and terminating Employees, as needed.
• Ensures the integrity of all supplies delivered to the Receiving Dock.
• Creates, implements and monitors a computerized itemization of all goods and supplies received and stored on property and communicates this information to the appropriate Managers and/or Culinary Staff.
• Cooperates with Accounts Payable Employees in the verification of orders received.
• Compiles statistical data for reporting purposes.
• Maintains all files in the Receiving Department.
• Directs Receiving Clerks to prepare boxes for shipment, and maintain records of all shipments sent out.
• Conducts the necessary research to effectively resolve Receiving disputes.
• Attaches the invoice to Purchase Order and indicates the quantity received, number of boxes, date received, invoice number and any other pertinent information.
• Facilitates the flow of information, by organizing and presiding over regularly scheduled meetings with all Employees under his/her span of control.
• Held accountable, to a high degree, for the accuracy and thoroughness of departmental records and reports.
• Responsible for all monthly inventories for Food & Beverage and inventory levels in the warehouse.
• Responsible for maintaining a consistent, regular attendance record.
• May be used as an usher as needed by management for events.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Directly supervises the activities of all Warehouse/Receiving and Inventory Control staff.
Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. Providing assistance and back up when needed to the Purchasing Manager.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
High School diploma or GED required. Prior warehouse and receiving experience required.
SPECIAL QUALIFICATIONS:
Must possess a current and valid Driver’s License and clean driving record. Must possess effective communication, organizational, and analytical skills. Must be extremely numbers-oriented and computer-literate.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to read, analyze and interpret basic instructions, furnished in written, oral or diagram form.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
REASONING ABILITY:
Ability to apply common sense reasoning to a variety of situations and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
