Human Resources Assistant
Department: Human ResourcesReports To: Human Resources Supervisor
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Position Summary
The Human Resources Assistant (HRA) provides administrative and operational support to the Human Resources team by assisting with recruitment, onboarding, employee records, compliance, benefits administration, leave coordination, and employee support. This position helps ensure compliance with federal, state, and company requirements while delivering exceptional customer service throughout the employee lifecycle.Working closely with the Human Resources Supervisor and regional leadership, the HRA promotes consistent Human Resources practices that align with Danville's mission, values, and organizational goals.
Essential Responsibilities
Talent Acquisition & Onboarding- Assist with recruiting activities, applicant communications, interview scheduling, and hiring documentation.
- Coordinate pre-employment requirements including background screenings, driving record reviews, reference checks, and onboarding paperwork.
- Prepare and facilitate New Employee Orientation (NEO).
- Complete I-9, E-Verify, and HRIS data entry.
- Maintain accurate hiring records.
- Create, maintain, audit, and archive confidential personnel files.
- Process employment changes, promotions, transfers, and separations.
- Monitor required licenses and certifications.
- Maintain accurate HRIS records.
- Prepare reports and assist with HR recordkeeping.
- Assist with internal and external audits.
- Support employment law compliance.
- Maintain required HR documentation.
- Assist with workers' compensation reporting.
- Respond to routine HR questions.
- Assist employees with employment forms and benefits.
- Support Open Enrollment and leave documentation.
- Partner with the Human Resources Supervisor and leaders to promote consistent HR practices.
- Support HR projects, meetings, recruiting events, and training.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- One year of administrative, office, recruiting, or Human Resources experience preferred.
- Strong communication, organization, confidentiality, Microsoft 365, and HRIS/payroll system skills.
- Valid Utah driver's license with acceptable driving record.
- Successfully pass required background screenings.
