Senior Financial Accountant

We are recruiting on behalf of an established WA mining organisation for an experienced Senior Financial Accountant to join their Perth finance team. This is a broad, hands-on opportunity covering financial reporting, statutory compliance, audit, fixed assets and mining accounting, with genuine potential to convert into a permanent position.

About the Role:

Reporting to the Financial Controller, this role will support the delivery of accurate financial reporting, statutory compliance and month-end processes across a complex mining environment. You will take ownership across key balance sheet areas while supporting audit, tax, fixed assets, treasury and continuous improvement initiatives within the broader finance function.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and review month-end financial reporting and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Support statutory reporting and compliance with Australian Accounting Standards and IFRS.
• Coordinate internal and external audit requirements.
• Manage fixed asset and capital expenditure accounting.
• Support accounting for exploration, mine development and rehabilitation provisions.
• Manage intercompany accounting and reconciliations.
• Assist with BAS, FBT, payroll tax, royalties and other statutory obligations.
• Support cash flow forecasting and treasury activities.
• Maintain strong financial controls and accounting processes.
• Drive improvements across SAP, reporting and finance systems.

Short but Sweet:

We are seeking a technically strong finance professional with:

• CA / CPA / equivalent qualification highly regarded.
• Strong financial accounting and month-end experience.
• Hands-on SAP experience – essential.
• Mining / resources experience highly regarded.
• Strong audit, balance sheet and statutory reporting capability.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
• The ability to work autonomously and hit the ground running.
