RESPONSIBILITIES
Meet individually with clients to teach mindfulness skills.
Participate in monthly community outreach within the New School
Attend weekly team supervision with a clinical therapist and the Mindfulness team directors on Wednesdays, 12pm-1pm.
Participate in both individual and group-based mindfulness 2 hour training from 1:15pm-3:15pm on the following Wednesdays – September 9th, 16th, 23rd and September 30th– prior to facilitating mindfulness sessions independently.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Incoming first-year Psychology MA student at The New School
Interest in mindfulness
Interest in community outreach
Strong interpersonal skills
Personal mindfulness or meditation practice preferred
Interest in Clinical Psychology PhD at the New School preferred
WORK MODE
Work-mode can be 100% remote, hybrid, or 100% in person #LI-DNI
Hourly Rate: $20.00-21.00 per hour

Responsibilities:
The New School Counseling Services is seeking applications from students for an exciting opportunity to be part of the Mindfulness Initiative with a five hours per week, paid position. The Student Health Services Mindfulness Team works to assist Counseling Services and Wellness and Health Promotion to offer support and mindfulness education to New School students. The Mindfulness Team provides 30-minute one-on-one mindfulness sessions and participation in monthly community outreach within the New School. As part of this team, you will receive training and ongoing support in teaching mindfulness techniques and facilitating mindfulness practice and will gain experience working with clients in a clinical and community setting. Mindfulness Counselors report to PhD Psychology student co-supervisors and Senior Associate Provost for Student Health Services.
