We are seeking a talented and motivated Management Accountant to join our Finance team. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious finance professional looking to develop their career within a commercially focused and collaborative environment.
Our Finance function plays a critical role in supporting the achievement of the company's strategic objectives through accurate financial reporting, insightful business analysis, effective risk management, and sound financial control. Working closely with stakeholders across the business, you will contribute to robust decision-making and help drive sustainable business performance.
The Role
As a Management Accountant, you will play a key role in delivering robust financial reporting and ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial information. You will take ownership of specific income statement and balance sheet areas, providing analysis and insight to support business performance and informed decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
Assist in the preparation of monthly management accounts and provide analysis of key variances against prior periods
Take ownership of accounting for designated areas of the income statement and balance sheet
Prepare and post monthly journals accurately and on time
Develop and maintain meaningful management information to identify trends and support business understanding
Ensure monthly accounting and reporting activities are completed in accordance with Group policies and reporting deadlines
Prepare and review balance sheet reconciliations to maintain strong financial controls
Support external audit requirements and contribute to ad hoc finance projects as required
Analyse financial performance and explain actual results against historical trends
About You
We're looking for someone who combines strong technical accounting skills with a proactive and analytical approach.
Essential Skills & Experience
Previous experience within a similar finance or accounting role
Professionally qualified or studying towards a recognised accountancy qualification (minimum AAT qualified or ACA, ACCA or CIMA Part-Qualified)
Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including: Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP, INDEX/MATCH, IF statements, SUMIF, SUMPRODUCT, Nested formulas
Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
Strong communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with a range of stakeholders
Self-motivated and able to work independently while recognising when to seek support and guidance
Enthusiastic about developing technical accounting knowledge and understanding of the wider business and industry
A collaborative approach with a willingness to share knowledge and support the development of colleagues
