The salary is determined in accordance with the University’s compensation structure and will be commensurate with the candidates’ education and experience, within the assigned salary range for this position. 

The Graduate Assistant for Accreditation and Quality Improvement sustains the operational capacity of the Office of Institutional Research and Integrated Data Analytics (IRIDA), with a primary focus on supporting university accreditation, assessment, and continuous quality improvement efforts. Following the departure of previously assigned part-time faculty support, this role fills a critical gap in the ability of the Office of Institutional Research and Integrated Data Analytics to track, document, and articulate institutional compliance to external stakeholders. The Graduate Assistant specializes in drafting technical assessment reports, designing infographics, and developing targeted data visualizations.

 

The core responsibilities of this position are designed to advance the PVAMU 2035: Journey to Eminence strategic framework. By providing the technical capacity to document continuous improvement and institutional effectiveness, the role directly supports JTE Goal 1: Investing in People and Performance Excellence and JTE Goal 3: Enriching Student Success, increasing institutional capacity to rigorously document compliance with accreditation standards and providing community members with data to enhance their ability to make data-informed decisions.

Responsibilities:

Technical Report Writing and Editing

• Draft and edit technical reports for assessment and accreditation
• Review and refine institutional documentation for clarity and accuracy
• Ensure documents meet formatting and compliance standards
  

Office and Technical Support

• Provide light technical support to office staff
• Assist with special projects as assigned
• Support general office operations as needed

Data Processing and Analysis

• Process and organize data for institutional reports using Excel
• Maintain data files and ensure data integrity
• Assist with basic statistical analyses as needed

Infographic and Visualization Development

• Create infographics and data visualizations
• Design visual materials for presentations and reports
• Support development of dashboards and visual analytics
  
  

Required Education & Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in an applicable field.
• Must be enrolled as a full-time graduate student at Prairie View A&M University. (Minimum of 9 credit hours during the regular fall and spring semesters and 6 semester credit hours for the summer semester).
• Must be in good academic standing.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (Statistics, Data Science, Computer Science, Education, Public Administration, Social Sciences, or related)
• Currently enrolled as a full-time graduate student at PVAMU
• Minimum 9 credit hours (Fall/Spring) or 6 credit hours (Summer)
• Good academic standing
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Adobe Acrobat/Photoshop
• Good written communication skills
• Detail-oriented and organized

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: 

• Experience with PowerBI, Tableau, or similar data visualization tools
• Knowledge of SPSS, STATA, R, or other statistical software
• Previous research or data analysis experience
