The Electrical Engineer II is responsible for the electrical design, implementation, testing, and commissioning support of Cytiva bioprocess systems and skid-based equipment. As an OEM-focused role, the engineer is responsible for the electrical design and integration of components within equipment control panels, ensuring compliance with customer requirements, P&IDs, URS, applicable international standards, and country-specific electrical regulations.

This position is part of the Custom Engineering organization located in Pune and will be an on-site role. At Cytiva, our vision is, to advance future therapeutics from discovery to delivery.

What you’ll do

• Preparation and review of electrical engineering deliverables such as single line diagrams, power distribution concepts, load calculations, cable schedules, electrical schematics, panel layouts, terminal arrangements, BOMs, grounding and earthing requirements, component selection, and verification of electrical drawings and general arrangement drawings. The engineer shall ensure compliance with IEC, CE, UL, ATEX, GMP, and other applicable industry standards and customer specifications.
• The role requires close collaboration with control panel suppliers, project managers, process engineers, automation engineers, procurement teams, and customers to develop safe, reliable, and cost-effective electrical solutions. Responsibilities include customer specification review, technical proposal support, electrical costing inputs, supplier quotation evaluation, project scheduling support, risk assessments, and management of electrical deliverables throughout the project lifecycle.
• Coordinate and review control panel manufacturing activities, perform panel inspections, support Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and Site Acceptance Testing (SAT), verify field wiring, conduct electrical checks of motors, drives, power supplies, circuit protection devices, and support commissioning and troubleshooting activities. The engineer will ensure all electrical deliverables are completed in accordance with project specifications, quality standards, safety requirements, and project schedules.
• Maintaining engineering standards, supporting continuous improvement initiatives, updating electrical documentation, resolving technical issues, and providing customer support related to electrical systems. Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills are essential.

Who you are

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering
• 5-8 years of experience in industrial electrical design, control panel engineering, power distribution systems, and project execution, preferably within OEM, pharmaceutical, life sciences, or process equipment industries.

Travel Requirements:

• Willingness to travel up to 40% of the time for project follow-up, supplier inspections, FAT/SAT activities, commissioning support, troubleshooting, and customer/Cytiva any site visits is required.
