The student worker position supporting the Screen Studies Production Studio is essential for the successful teaching of hands-on workshops and technical demonstrations, including how to operate a camera, light, use sound equipment, block scenes, film interviews, and other important skills. By supporting faculty through the maintenance of equipment, this role ensures that students meet the learning objectives outlined in their courses.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Maintaining the gear and props on a weekly basis
Supporting faculty requests for technical support when needed
Charging batteries prior to classes
Ensuring that all gear is properly labeled
Identifying damaged gear, and flagging for repair
When there is downtime, researching additional gear to purchase
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
The qualifications for this position a strong understanding of equipment in a film production context, including cameras (mirrorless and DSLR’s), lights, audio gear, G&E, and grip:
Experience at a rental house is a major plus
Recommendations for Professors
Experience with TNS check out systems
Attention to detail
WORK MODE
On-Campus Position - Employees in this position are expected to work on-campus during regularly scheduled work hours due to the nature of the work being that which is not feasible, or not in the best interest of the organization, to be performed remotely. #LI-DNI
HOURLY RATE: $21
