Investment Manager

Position Summary

The role of this position combines portfolio management, fundamental research, client engagement, and business development responsibilities to support the overall growth and performance of the asset management business.

Key Responsibilities

1. Portfolio Management

• Support equity portfolio management, construction, and implementation in line with investment objectives.
• Generate investment ideas through market, sector, and company analysis.
• Monitor portfolio risk, performance, valuation, liquidity, holdings, and market developments.
• Conduct performance attribution and provide actionable portfolio recommendations.
• Prepare investment proposals, portfolio reviews, market outlooks, and committee or client materials.
• Coordinate with internal stakeholders to ensure compliant and efficient portfolio execution.

2. Investment Research

• Conduct top-down research on macroeconomic trends, market outlooks, investment themes, and industry developments.
• Perform in-depth fundamental & ESG analysis of companies, sectors, and industries to identify attractive investment opportunities.
• Develop financial models, valuation frameworks, earnings forecasts, and investment theses.
• Monitor portfolio holdings and investment watchlists to assess changing fundamentals and risk-reward profiles.
• Attend company meetings, analyst briefings, industry conferences, and sell-side research discussions to gather market intelligence.
• Generate high-conviction investment ideas and contribute to the firm's investment knowledge base.
• Undertake ad hoc research projects and special assignments as required.

3. Client Engagement & Business Development

• Engage clients on investment strategies, market outlooks, and portfolio performance to support retention.
• Partner with Sales and Marketing on client presentations, roadshows, due diligence, and fundraising.
• Support product development and coordinate regional and offshore business initiatives.

Qualifications & Experience

Education

• Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
• CFA Charterholder or CFA candidate preferred.

Professional Certifications

• Valid Securities Practicing License (SSC License) required.
• Additional investment or risk management certifications are advantageous.

Experience

• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in portfolio management, equity research
• Demonstrated experience covering Vietnam and/or Asian equity markets.
• Proven track record in portfolio management, investment decision-making, and generating investment ideas.

Knowledge & Technical Skills

• Strong understanding of capital markets, portfolio construction, risk management, and equity valuation methodologies.
• Proficiency in financial information platforms and analytical tools, including Bloomberg, Aladdin, FiinPro, FiinTrade, AI tools
• Strong knowledge of financial statements, corporate valuation techniques, and investment analysis.
• Excellent analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving capabilities.
