Job Description
The Building Administrator is responsible for the overall management, operation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of building facilities and critical infrastructure supporting telecommunications, and data center operations. The role provides advanced technical leadership in Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, Fire Protection, Building Management, and Energy Management Systems to ensure operational reliability, safety, regulatory compliance, and business continuity. The position also drives operational excellence through preventive maintenance, incident management, energy efficiency initiatives, vendor management, and process digitalization.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Operations and Maintenance Management
- Manage daily building operations and facilities maintenance activities.
- Ensure the timely planning and execution of preventive maintenance programs for all building systems and critical equipment.
- Maintain operational readiness and reliability of facilities supporting corporate office, telecommunications, and data center operations.
- Monitor equipment performance and implement corrective actions to prevent service disruptions.
Technical Leadership and Incident Management
- Lead technical troubleshooting and corrective maintenance activities for building systems and equipment failures.
- Provide expert technical guidance to maintenance teams, contractors, and service providers.
- Ensure rapid response, restoration, and resolution of facility-related incidents within established service levels.
- Drive root cause analysis and implementation of corrective and preventive actions to minimize recurring issues.
- Always anticipate building systems Single Point of Failure (SPOF) and immediately raise the concern to the immediate superior. Provide immediate mitigation plan/s to counter the SPOF and raise relevant Capex for long term resolution.
- Continuously study all possible site vulnerabilities that may impact business operations, Provide immediate mitigation plan/s to counter the SPOF and raise relevant Capex for long term resolution.
Critical Facilities Management
- Ensure continuous 24/7 availability of critical systems including:
- Power Distribution Systems
- Cooling and Air Conditioning Systems
- Fire Detection and Alarm Systems (FDAS)
- Building Management Systems (BMS)
- Fire Protection Systems
- Auxiliary Building Systems
- Domestic water supply, sewer and storm drain systems
- Safe building envelop and perimeters
- Support business continuity by ensuring uninterrupted operation of facilities serving critical business functions.
Compliance, Safety, and Governance
- Ensure compliance with Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) requirements.
- Maintain adherence to applicable engineering standards, building codes, legal requirements, and regulatory mandates.
- Ensure successful compliance with ISO standards, audits, and process requirements.
- Manage site access, contractor activities, and facility-related risks.
Financial and Vendor Management
- Prepare, implement, and monitor Facilities Operations Expenditure (OPEX) budgets.
- Identify and recommend Capital Expenditure (CAPEX) projects to improve facility reliability, efficiency, and sustainability.
- Manage maintenance service providers and contractors through Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
- Ensure optimum utilization and performance of facilities assets and maintenance resources.
Energy and Sustainability Management
- Drive energy efficiency programs and initiatives across the facility.
- Monitor and improve building energy performance and energy management systems.
- Identify opportunities for sustainability improvements and operational cost reduction.
Continuous Improvement and Innovation
- Promote best practices in facilities management, maintenance, and engineering operations.
- Keep the organization informed of updates in engineering standards, building regulations, emerging technologies, and industry trends.
- Support digital transformation initiatives through process automation, system integration, and data-driven decision-making.
- Enable Building and Energy Management (BEM) customers by delivering facility-related business requirements and operational support.
