DuPont is seeking an experienced, compassionate, and driven Occupational Health Specialist to support our Valley View, Stow, and Copley, Ohio facilities. This is a unique opportunity for a Registered Nurse who thrives on autonomy, variety, and hands-on impact to lead site medical operations across three dynamic manufacturing locations in the greater Cleveland area — conveniently situated near Interstate 77, Interstate 480, and the Ohio Turnpike.
You'll be the trusted face of health and wellness for approximately 220 employees at our Valley View and Stow sites, plus around 25 employees at Copley — building relationships, promoting healthy living, and ensuring our teams get home safe every day.
What You'll Do
As the on-site Registered Nurse, you will be the go-to resource for employee health, safety, and wellness, with responsibilities including:
- Lead site medical operations — manage day-to-day medical department activities, including budget coordination, facility and supply maintenance, and scheduling of the offsite contract physician as needed.
- Deliver hands-on care — provide first aid for minor injuries (abrasions, lacerations, contusions, sprains, strains, and more), assessing when further physician treatment is needed to prevent long-term impact.
- Administer care under physician direction — provide emergency medications and immunizations within your scope of practice.
- Champion employee wellness — serve as a health coach and advisor, educating employees on health topics and empowering healthier lifestyle choices.
- Conduct medical testing — operate vision, hearing, and spirometry equipment as part of medical clearance and early-detection programs, coordinating referrals and follow-up care.
- Manage health surveillance — coordinate and/or conduct pre-assignment health assessments and routine medical surveillance for employees and core contractors, in partnership with the site contract physician.
- Oversee case management — document Early Reports of Pain, determine work-relatedness, and manage follow-up actions; support short-term disability and FMLA processes, assessing fitness for duty and recommending work restrictions as needed.
- Ensure regulatory compliance — maintain adherence to OSHA, HIPAA, and other federal/state regulations, as well as Corporate HIS Standards and Guidelines.
- Coordinate injury and illness care — manage occupational and non-occupational case treatment, partnering with Broadspire on Workers' Compensation cases.
- Support a safer workplace — participate in workplace hazard audits, including ergonomics, indoor air quality, and heat stress evaluations.
- Maintain accurate records — document patient assessments, treatments, and follow-up care in the electronic medical record system (Cority preferred) to ensure accurate, compliant documentation.
- Drive continuous improvement — apply best practices and technology to occupational medicine processes, coordinating with internal and external medical professionals to manage care and costs effectively.
- Oversee drug testing protocols — perform urine drug collections, maintain proper chain of custody, and collaborate with the site Medical Review Officer on results.
- Provide after-hours support — offer clinical call coverage and be available to return to site for emergencies as needed.
- Engage proactively on the floor — build relationships with production workers to help prevent common workplace injuries.
Schedule: Valley View (Monday, Wednesday, Friday), Stow (Thursday), Copley (Tuesday).
