Job Description:
Manages diverse administrative functions usually for a very large, complex department or for a complete line of business that may be regional or national in scope, often requiring associates in one or more location. Functions managed may include: financial control/budgeting and consolidation, personnel processes, audit/compliance, premises, and coordination of certain projects, associate training, service quality, process improvement, business continuity, or communication. Consults with senior management in evaluating current methods and developing strategies to implement changes and improvements. Requires a thorough knowledge of the department or business units functional area or products. Working knowledge of general bank policies, programs and procedures and financial/accounting practices. Generally has full management responsibility over a relatively large team and may manage one or more levels of managers.
Leads the support/administrative functions for a somewhat large department usually at a local level. Responsibilities may include budget analysis and recommendations, operations analysis, identification and resolution of work flow issues, associate training, service quality, process improvement. Resolves personnel, audit and/or budget issues by researching and analyzing unusual problems, administers bank programs and policies and provides interpretation to department. Requires an in-depth knowledge of bank policies and programs and of the departments functional operations. May direct workflow activities.
Position Summary
The Senior Business Support Manager leads a team to drive business management functions within Global Markets Technology (GMT) Functions managed may include: monthly and quarterly financial management, management routines (change control governance, portfolio governance reviews, initiative spend reporting), workforce planning and management of communication. This senior BSM role consults with senior management to develop strategies which implement change and drive efficiencies. Requires a thorough knowledge of the department or business unit’s functional area or products. Working knowledge of general bank policies, programs and procedures and financial/accounting practices.
GMT organization has resources in over 20 countries and employs over 8000 employees and contractors. Business Operations team is responsible for managing the integrated COO functions, including business and people management, financial management, risk and controls and business strategy. The team works closely with Global Markets business partners, Enterprise business support partners and the Global Technology organization.
Responsibilities:
Manage and drive production of consistent and appropriate documentation for Technology Executive routines with peers, senior leaders and business partners (business reviews, operational variance reporting, technology initiative reporting, regulatory reporting)
Coordinate between Tech Execs, COO and Business Operations teams to ensure alignment of objectives, transparency of both base and initiative spend against budget/forecast, and reporting is communication across all partners
Partner with Technology Executives and business partners to manage expenses at the application level and govern portfolios, ensuring visibility of project progress against objectives and tracking decisions/approvals to forecast changes
Drive strategies to effectively manage third-party spend, ensuring the proper mix of consulting to full time staff, manage tenure, and governance of license contracts
Understand the linkage of programs and projects to business strategy and portfolio priorities; ensure roadmaps are translated into robust delivery milestones
Support People processes (promotion and band reviews, performance management process and talent planning)
Manage robust and consistent communication and engagement plans for the executives and supported teams
Required Qualifications
• Excellent communication, influencing and facilitation skills, including the ability to make effective presentations
• Must be analytical and have the ability to manage competing priorities
• Ability to bring multiple stakeholders together, drive decision consensus, and demonstrate personal courage
• Ability to lead across multiple line of business to orchestrate cohesive risk and controls oversight and process management
• Prior experience handling multiple facets of an end-to-end business: financial management, project management, governance, operations and initiative strategy
• Strong financial acumen
• Advanced/Expert MS Office skills, especially Excel and PowerPoint
• Extremely organized/excellent time management skills
• Ability to operate independently
• Strong interpersonal skills
• Proven relationship management skills to influence decisions and resolve conflicts across multiple business partners
• Exceptional business-centric mindset utilizing sound business judgment to drive optimal outcomes

• Experience developing solid processes or enhancing current processes to drive a foundational framework which leads to efficiencies and automation
